ADHT 4 - 0 Jesters

53232 spectators had come to The Lloyd Dobler Effect this cloudy day. The head coach flashed hand signals from the sideline and ADHT formed up in a 3-5-2 combination. Let's hope the opposing sideline wasn't filming that. They fielded: Challandes - Lamont, Steinhauser, Vader - Ernst, Siddall-McQueen, Brickman, Baker, van Agt - Grilli, Herrebrugh.

Gentlemen prefer blondes and Jesters prefers a 5-2-3. Let's see how this plays out for them. Lineup: Hoare - Hojjat Doust, Casati, Droux, Polat, Popper - Pimont, Silfwerwald - Joki-Erkkilä, Nicula, Utterner.

ADHT saw most attack opportunities on the wings by using their supernatural ability to push the attack in the right direction. Like the adage "bend but don't break", Jesters will rely on their world class ability to counter-attack today. Proving that a foot massage and a pre-game pedicure can work wonders, I. Grilli sent a rocket into the box from the corner, finding C. Steinhauser, who headed it past the keeper with extreme prejudice. 4 minutes in and it's 1 - 0! Jesters mounted an inspired counter-attack down the right wing after 33 minutes, but K. Droux was unable to convert from short range. I. Grilli's speed is always a threat when he gets a little room to move, and this time was no different as he broke free of his man to send an on-target through ball to T. Herrebrugh who knocked it in for ADHT. 2 - 0! ADHT's I. Grilli struck his penalty well enough to beat the goalkeeper and extend the home team's lead to 3 - 0 after 39 minutes. By now, the players of ADHT felt that victory was a sure thing and began to play it safe, focusing on defense and not risking too much going forward. After more pushing and shoving than a pack of helicopter moms trying to get the last appointment for their snowflakes to see the Easter Bunny, Jesters's J. Popper finally got himself booked for a foul. That was no dive! ADHT's T. Baker looked to be in real pain after being caught by a stray leg. The fans held their breath, but in the end he managed to get up and keep playing. 3 - 0 was the score after the first half. Looks like Nate Silver was right again - his prediction that ADHT would have 88 percent possession in this half was spot on!

Things were going from bad to worse for the visitors. I. Grilli was able to squirm through the central defense after 49 minutes and score, bringing the lead to 4 - 0. ADHT had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to go down the wing instead. Coming in from the right, A. Siddall-McQueen almost managed to score another goal for ADHT, but his header was kept out by the lightning fast reflexes of the visiting keeper. 75 minutes into the game, ADHT's I. Grilli tried to nail the coffin shut, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. ADHT were doing a good job holding on to the ball, with 89 percent of possession.

Most important ADHT player was R. Brickman. Good thing K. Vader isn't a horse, because he'd surely be sent to the glue factory after that performance. The most outstanding Jesters player was without a doubt T. Utterner. I can't remember K. Droux ever having a worse night than he just had. The match ends 4 - 0.
