Sulaiman's speed is always a threat when he gets a little room to move, and 30 minutes into the match was no different as he broke free of his man to send a delightful through ball to V. Kasala who knocked it in for AFC Stars. 1 - 1! After a fine move down the middle W. Ulijn nearly gave the home side a goal after 37 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide. The guests took the lead 42 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in T. Saltiris scoring to make it 1 - 2. 1 - 2 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Dolly, with 57 percent of the ball.

The AFC Stars players could smell victory in the air. V. Kasala wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for A. Nedelea after 60 minutes. After 60 minutes, AFC Stars's A. Mulvey burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 1 - 3. The local team's free kick specialist A. Ulufer, reduced the away team's lead to 2 - 3 with a humdinger of a shot after 77 minutes. A foul 81 minutes into the game resulted in a free kick for Dolly. A.
