48000 spectators had come to The City Ground this cloudy day. Berthold Binder was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Martin Oskarsson and Lothar Nolting. Our studio analysts were correct. Burlington has taken the field in a 3-5-2 alignment. The following players took the field: Respaldiza - Andronache, Lund, Lucey - Meek, Farrar, Teacher, Herma, Wood - Beck, da Rocha.

Cry "havoc" and let loose the dogs of war! Gooners will go to battle in a 3-5-2 formation. Starters: Okker - Csánig, Ergenekon, Buck - Blanchfield, Collins, Irving, Tandy, Thomas - Luding, Mačok.

Burlington fans held their breath as R. Beck gallivanted down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and fired home the go-ahead goal for 1 - 0! Burlington's S. da Rocha was shown a yellow card after 8 minutes for slicing down an opponent. A great save by keeper M. Okker with 11 minutes gone kept the visitors in the game after J. Lucey struck from the left with a real cannonball. S. da Rocha's well-known speed was on display as he darted past his defender and sent a beautiful pass through the defender’s legs to R. Beck who scored the 2 - 0 goal. The visitors' right side was dangerous today; Z. Csánig made the home team's keeper look foolish as he easily scored, reducing the gap to 2 - 1 after 13 minutes. J. Lucey increased Burlington's lead to 3 - 1, connecting with a hooked ball from the right. The away fans are claiming handball, to no avail. A. Wood saw that the keeper was out and shot from an incredible distance 23 minutes in. Unfortunately for Burlington, the ball skimmed the crossbar and went over. Gooners's L. Buck had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 28 minutes gone. J. Laguna Millán was the replacement. It was 3 - 1 at the break. The Count appeared on the jumbotron and announced that Burlington had 69...69 percent possession. AH AH AH!

R. Beck seemed to be defying gravity as he elegantly headed in a goal for Burlington after a corner kick that was nicely executed by E. Lund. That makes it 4 - 1. One, two, three goals! That completed a hattrick for R. Beck. AH! AH! AH! I. Herma was not content with his team's lead, and tried to extend it 57 minutes into the game after a nice run through the middle, but his shot went wide. After 66 minutes, O. Farrar put Burlington ahead 5 - 1 when he rose to head in a hooked ball, the result of an effort from the right side. By now, the players of Burlington felt that victory was a sure thing and began to play it safe, focusing on defense and not risking too much going forward. E. Lund's curling free kick almost found the goal for Burlington, but the visitors' keeper somehow managed to get ahold of it. R. Beck could have put Burlington up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 77 minutes. Burlington managed to extend their lead to 6 - 1 when A. Wood slid in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. Looks like Nate Silver was right again - his prediction that Burlington would have 71 percent possession in this half was spot on!

Most important Burlington player was T. Meek. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because S. da Rocha seemed to stumble all over the pitch. Gooners's top performer was clearly J. Blanchfield. Speaking of stinking up the place, M. Thomas sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham. The match ends 6 - 1.
