Skelleys 3 - 1 Entropy
(374456068)

06-05-2012 18.00
Clear skies welcomed the 45000 spectators who had made their way to
Bates Out Arena.
Jes Svensson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Roger Wickén and
Julien Chappe.
People from all over
London had joined up for the derby.
Skelleys had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Grieve - Selvieland, Arnold, Cottam - Mushtaq, Gannon, Torrance, Muhammad, Starsmore - Williams, Fordham.
Entropy started off with a 4-5-1 lineup.
They fielded: Windmill - Castiço, Ringenburg, Harder, Dubravčić - Pohlmann, Poenaru, Norbeck, Joszko, Trickett - Nonnis.
Skelleys were clearly looking ahead to the next match rather than focusing on the one at hand.
The wings were the focus of most of Entropy's attacks today.
Skelleys took the lead 25 minutes in, as
S. Fordham broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper.
One of many good crosses from
Z. Starsmore on the wing was received and skillfully taken care of by
A. Williams, who scored for Skelleys. 2 - 0
After this, you could see that the players of Skelleys were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
H. Mushtaq was ever so close to scoring after an excellent corner was beautifully flicked on by
S. Gannon, but the ball bounced off the post to safety.
39 minutes into the game,
H. Mushtaq had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
T. Billam.
A penalty 42 minutes into the game gave the home side a chance at adding to the score, but an overconfident
A. Williams shot the ball wide trying to put it away in the top corner.
S. Gannon of Skelleys received a yellow card after 44 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
With 44 minutes played,
D. Nonnis had a fantastic opportunity to reply but his shot flew harmlessly into the side-netting of the goal.
It was 2 - 0 at the break.
Possession of the ball saw an equal split between the teams during the forty-five minutes.
After 55 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
O. Selvieland might have resulted in another goal for Skelleys. However,
P. Windmill made a spectacular save.
M. Muhammad increased the lead for Skelleys to 3 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
The visitors replied 82 minutes into the game, reducing the home side's lead to 3 - 1, as
P. Trickett dashed up the middle, easily lobbing the ball over the home team's keeper.
Entropy's
A. Pohlmann tried his best to narrow the score with a well placed free kick, but it wasn't quite good enough and
E. Grieve managed to block the shot.
Entropy enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 51 percent of possession.
M. Muhammad performed admirably for Skelleys.
T. Billam was a disappointment, however.
The most dominating Entropy player was without a doubt
D. Nonnis.
P. Trickett turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 3 - 1.
