Electric 1 - 5 Hadley (374464883)

12000 spectators arrived at Pride of Yorkshire Stadium, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Halvard Ivanhoe was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Arnold Awad and Danijel Kragulj. A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Electric. The following players took the field: Bourget - Pye, Gould, Allen, Bradnock - Kingly, Wilkinson, Parker, Bentine - Rose, Dodd.

Hadley decided to use a 4-5-1 set up. The following players had been chosen: Tavinho - Kazmi, Javegny, Rizzo, Slater - Navarro, de Bruijne, Manera, Elberfeld, Mpougiouris - Nachtnebel.

8 minutes into the match, Hadley nearly took the lead, as M. Rizzo broke through on the right. W. Bourget made the save, however. 15 minutes into the game, R. Slater had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came L. Stewart. With 34 minutes played, L. Stewart of Hadley fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. The visiting A. Mpougiouris was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 37 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score. Hadley's W. Nachtnebel's long shot really ought to have found the net 38 minutes into the match, but it fell just wide of the target. J. Manera received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 39 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. It was 0 - 1 at the break. Hadley claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 84 percent.

J. Manera still has a lot to learn. For instance, he should know not to make half-hearted passes in front of G. Wilkinson, who easily scored for Electric, making it 1 - 1. 57 minutes into the game, A. de Bruijne almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. Hadley's J. Manera managed to lose the defenders as he advanced down the right wing and scored, putting the visitors ahead after 61 minutes. 1 - 2. Electric's K. Rose got himself booked for a foul. The player down was P. Elberfeld. The Hadley bench looked worried for a while, but in the end he managed to get up. After 66 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave W. Nachtnebel a chance to increase the lead for Hadley, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 1 - 3. With 67 minutes played, Hadley put themselves up 1 - 4 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was A. Navarro. With 69 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed W. Nachtnebel of Hadley to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 1 - 5. After this, you could see that the players of Hadley were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. The referee showed Hadley's W. Nachtnebel the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. With 74 minutes played, J. Javegny nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, J. Javegny got himself booked. The manager of Hadley was not happy. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Hadley, with 86 percent of the ball.

Electric's top performer was clearly K. Rose. R. Dodd turned in a dismal performance, however. W. Nachtnebel performed admirably for Hadley. L. Stewart on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 1 - 5.
