WFC started off with a 3-4-3 lineup.
Lineup: Lazãr - Rasquilho, Baló, Blanca - Bleve, Rizzuto, van Hattem, Bright-Thomas - Gaffney, Bylykbashi, Schönmann.
Ginge had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Nenchev - Tessier, Sießenbüttel, Pubek, Ledda - Crannach, Hoti, Minkov, Field, Todd - Holtenbratt.
For their match strategy, Ginge had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible.
One of many good crosses from
A. Crannach on the wing was received and skillfully taken care of by
E. Holtenbratt, who scored for Ginge. 0 - 1
The counterattacks of Ginge were deadly and 11 minutes into the game,
Z. Minkov received a nice pass from the right flank, making it 0 - 2.
WFC supporters cheered as good work down the right got the ball to
M. Rizzuto who reduced the visitors' lead after 17 minutes to 1 - 2.
23 minutes into the game,
H. Pubek had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
K. D'izier.
With the scoreboard showing that 28 minutes had been played, Ginge nearly put themselves up another goal after
M. Field came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save.
The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 2.
WFC claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.
WFC put pressure on the visitors' central defence 58 minutes into the game, but
M. Blanca couldn't find an opening.
60 minutes in, Ginge's
E. Holtenbratt received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
M. Bylykbashi showed the skills that make him a real crowd pleaser as he, after 69 minutes, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 2 - 2 equaliser away.
73 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for WFC to take the lead after a good cross from the right found
M. Bylykbashi alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post.
A foul called during a Ginge counterattack resulted in a great chance to score, but
R. Todd's shot rattled off the post.
With 86 minutes played
S. van Hattem almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide.
Ginge's
R. Todd was shown a yellow card after 87 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when
R. Todd slipped through the defence on the right to come up alone against
A. Lazãr, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes.
Y. Tessier of Ginge received a yellow card after 89 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
Possession of the ball saw an equal split between the teams during the forty-five minutes.
The most dominating WFC player was without a doubt
P. Bleve.
On the other hand,
T. Bright-Thomas's play was disheartening.
Most important Ginge player was
Z. Minkov.
V. Nenchev turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 2 - 2.
