Clouds darkened the skies at Blackhill Park as 6126 spectators turned up for the match. Cristiano Madeo was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Damien Cohen and Grigorios Argitakos. BARCELONACITY took the lead after 7 minutes making the score 0 - 1. M. Landers placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. After 21 minutes, a long pass from BARCELONACITY's B. Hudson caught the defence out of position. M. Landers collected the ball, and with the goal at his mercy calmly rolled the ball just inside the post. 0 - 2. A drive down the left side allowed L. Fuller to get in close and score another goal for BARCELONACITY after 28 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 3. At this point, it was obvious that the players of BARCELONACITY lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. BARCELONACITY's L. Fuller had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 41 minutes having been played. L. Gray was the replacement. After 43 minutes Blackfyne's P. Wostenholme contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. It was 0 - 3 at the break. BARCELONACITY claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 68 percent.

After the ball was lifted in from the left, E. Lamb was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 47 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. Good work by the BARCELONACITY defensive line after 76 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found M. Nuttall alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide. BARCELONACITY had most of the ball, with 67 percent of possession.

A. Cargill performed admirably for Blackfyne. J. Reid was a disappointment, however. BARCELONACITY's best player was A. Batten. S. Simon on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 3.
