A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 46363 to
't Hoogie.
Eloy Killing was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Andrés De Pauw and
Janusz Wierucki.
Papparizza started off with a 2-5-3 lineup.
Lineup: Slyngborg - Rosell, Kietzmann - Boeckmann, Filipi, Taki, Andrici, Masclef - Mäenmaa, Nenciu, Bottek.
Jimmy-time decided to use a 5-4-1 set up.
The following players took the field: Bennes - Verwimp, Ruchlewicz, Sibum, Lozovoy, Pachor - Carranza, Popa, Zeilstra, Pop - De Tendeloo.
Jimmy-time were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks.
Papparizza broke through on the left 14 minutes into the game, with
J. Mäenmaa firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 1 - 0 lead.
Papparizza increased the lead as
L. Bottek struck to make the score 2 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper.
After this, you could see that the players of Papparizza were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
2 - 0 was the score after the first half.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Papparizza, with 64 percent of the ball.
Usually a powerful player on the field,
M. Verwimp looked kind of pale and tired under the hot sun.
60 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
L. Boeckmann broke through, making the score 3 - 0 for Papparizza.
Jimmy-time's
R. Pop was shown a yellow card after 61 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
D. De Tendeloo wasn't much help defensively. His energy-consuming forward runs proved quite costly in the oppressive heat.
The visitors' right side was dangerous today;
M. Verwimp made the home team's keeper look foolish as he easily reduced the lead to make it 3 - 1 73 minutes into the match.
A great save by keeper
G. Bennes after 80 minutes kept the visitors in the game after
J. Masclef struck from the left with a real cannonball.
With 83 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock, Jimmy-time showed some good skill and were able to reduce the score to 3 - 2 when
P. Pachor got past the home side's central defenders right in front of the goal.
Possession in this half belonged to Papparizza, who controlled the ball 65 percent of the time.
The most dominating Papparizza player was without a doubt
L. Bottek.
J. Masclef was a disappointment, however.
Jimmy-time's best player was
D. De Tendeloo.
On the other hand,
O. Popa's play was disheartening.
The match ends 3 - 2.
