Matrix 4 - 0 VVASMV (374647555)

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 34075 at De Kale Grasmat today. Marek Podhorný was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Andrzej Myslak and Rob Ulfin. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Matrix. They fielded: Güney - Bauchet, Heins, Ramos - van Creveld, Brienesse, Jones, van der Graft, Merlin - Petlach, Shvachko.

VVASMV decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Lineup: Słomski - Semeloglou, Ivesøe, Amdi Nielsen - Erhall, Nielsen, van Bockel, Deschka, Tenner - Tarp Sørensen, Leeuwen.

After a fine move down the middle D. Jones nearly gave the home side a goal after 17 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide. D. Ramos gave Matrix the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 1 - 0 The referee showed VVASMV's B. Tarp Sørensen the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. R. Brienesse of Matrix had to be helped off the pitch as an injury meant he was unable to finish the game. J. Weber came in to finish the match. Matrix's E. van Creveld struck his penalty well enough to beat the goalkeeper and extend the home team's lead to 2 - 0 after 30 minutes. VVASMV breathed new life into the game with an opportunity to reduce the score after 31 minutes, but the home side's defenders cleared the ball on the line, after a long shot coming in from the left rebounded off the crossbar. Halftime score was 2 - 0. Matrix enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.

With 61 minutes played, J. Weber of Matrix fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. With 62 minutes played, Matrix put themselves up 3 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to G. Bauchet, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. After this, you could see that the players of Matrix were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. VVASMV's right side looked dangerous after 64 minutes, as P. Amdi Nielsen broke through. B. Güney continued to stifle them, however, as he made the save look easy. The game was close to savage at times, and Matrix's J. Weber received a second yellow card after 69 minutes; his ticket out of the game. Matrix's E. van Creveld was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box - B. Petlach managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 4 - 0 after 70 minutes. Possession in this half belonged to VVASMV, who controlled the ball 51 percent of the time.

The most dominating Matrix player was without a doubt B. Güney. D. Ramos was a disappointment, however. R. Leeuwen performed admirably for VVASMV. On the other hand, L. van Bockel's play was disheartening. The match ends 4 - 0.
