Several players seemed a little dazed by the warm weather, and were repeatedly tricked by the clever and agile B. Avallay. Many thought E. Brodsky ought to have been awarded a penalty 20 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around R. Pinheiro Costa after a determined run through the middle. With 28 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience, A. Blanco needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. The visiting P. Wehbe was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 29 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, G. Micale got himself booked. The manager of rayos was not happy. rayos's E. Grepet put his head to a high ball coming in from the right after 32 minutes, but the ball went wide. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave R. Moons from NeriSimonAlex a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 37 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! It might be a while before the fans see NeriSimonAlex's A. de Sá again, after he had to leave the field in great distress at the 37 minute mark. He was replaced by F. del Rincón. E. Antonescu of NeriSimonAlex took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 38 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 2. Confident in their lead, NeriSimonAlex's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. 0 - 2 was the score after the first half. Neither team were able to dominate possession this half.

With 61 minutes played, NeriSimonAlex put themselves up 0 - 3 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was A. Strugo. E. Brodsky wasn't much help defensively. His energy-consuming forward runs proved quite costly in the oppressive heat. The sunny day didn't make things easy for J. Segovia who didn't seem his usual powerful self on the pitch. The NeriSimonAlex free kick 87 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of E. Antonescu, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 0 - 4! N. Rojas was called on to replace rayos's N. Janota after 88 minutes following a nasty collision. NeriSimonAlex claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 55 percent.
