The crowd of 26684 turning up at
Regional Viktoras Mpouras today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain.
Lauritz Peene was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Deddi Shmilovich and
Walter Müller.
DH had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation.
Lineup: Szelcsányi - Donayre, Briz, van Lammeren - Ezrak, Cibinetto, Ion, Chiossi - Pontigo, Miñano, Hartmans.
Sikarios decided to use a 4-3-3 set up.
The following players took the field: Franaszczyk - Guzmán, Millon, Tuháček, Coloane - Allison, Taylor, Quiero - huanquil, Nuñez, Lezaeta.
With 13 minutes played
Y. Hartmans almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide.
With 14 minutes played,
H. Quiero of Sikarios fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
The rain made it hard for players like
V. Tuháček to show their technical control of the ball on this soggy day.
They were singing the praises of
G. Cibinetto 20 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to DH.
A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in DH's
E. Chiossi increasing the lead to 2 - 0.
After 30 minutes,
R. Briz put DH ahead 3 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing.
After this, you could see that the players of DH were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
Halftime score was 3 - 0.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by DH, with 76 percent of the ball.
J. Guzmán, who often relies on his speed, had a rotten day on the drenched grass.
DH's
Y. Hartmans got himself booked for a foul.
Y. Hartmans knew he was in trouble after hacking down an opponent. Despite his pleading with the referee, the DH player was shown a second yellow card and dismissed from the game.
Unfortunately for Sikarios,
B. Nuñez was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field.
A. San Martín replaced him.
After 61 minutes, DH sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached
A. Pontigo, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 4 - 0.
V. Millon of Sikarios received a yellow card after 77 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
A great save by keeper
W. Franaszczyk after 81 minutes kept the visitors in the game after
H. van Lammeren struck from the left with a real cannonball.
Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
A. Pontigo squirmed through their central defence after 82 minutes, increasing the lead to 5 - 0.
86 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
A. Pontigo broke through, making the score 6 - 0 for DH.
This third goal completed a hattrick for
A. Pontigo.
Possession in this half belonged to DH, who controlled the ball 79 percent of the time.
The most dominating DH player was without a doubt
A. Miñano.
However,
T. Szelcsányi made a disastrous appearance.
C. Lezaeta performed admirably for Sikarios.
On the other hand,
A. San Martín's play was disheartening.
The match ends 6 - 0.
