previous 7/10 next 9/10  Thirteen 4 - 2 Aiston (375858953)

The crowd of 41982 turning up at Mandolin Place today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain. Rasmer Inno was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Alejandro Del Rosal and Asbjørn Thorsen. Thirteen started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Kennethson - Coluccia, Dukshtein, Spuhler - Ocampo, Adderton, Del Brocco, Cambet, Frieling - Lousado, Barbisini.

Aiston tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Lineup: Bednarek - Robb, Williams, Ubidea - Rossi, Schellens, Gawrychowski, Clessidra, de Viron - Sossi, Falk.

R. Falk was uncomfortable with the soggy pitch as he couldn't move the ball around with his usual grace. N. Barbisini gave Thirteen the lead with a beautiful free kick after 38 minutes. 1 - 0! The home team will be cursing A. Schellens for weeks; he finished off a great pass from the left, knocking it past the keeper without a problem. The match was level at 1 - 1 after 40 minutes. Thirteen's J. Cambet got himself booked for a foul. Halftime score was 1 - 1. Thirteen enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 58 percent of possession.

A. Schellens didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain. With 51 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 2 - 1 lead as A. Adderton flipped the ball in after a cross from the right. M. de Viron finished off a quick charge from the left of the field by chipping the ball just past the home side's keeper, making the score 2 - 2 71 minutes into the match. C. Eifeler was called on to replace Aiston's F. Bednarek after 74 minutes following a nasty collision. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to V. Spuhler, but the Thirteen player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 3 - 2! N. Barbisini increased the lead for Thirteen to 4 - 2, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! Thirteen's J. Cambet left the field after 79 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was C. Estep. Aiston's M. Williams was shown a yellow card after 82 minutes for slicing down an opponent. A loud groan was heard from the fans of Thirteen, as F. Lousado left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. G. Pischl took his place on the field. Neither team was controlling the possession at this point in the match, with the stats showing a 50:50 split.

Most important Thirteen player was V. Spuhler. G. Pischl on the other hand, had a terrible day. Aiston's best player was A. Schellens. On the other hand, C. Eifeler's play was disheartening. The match ends 4 - 2.
