It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 26243 that came out to
Churrasqueirão.
Helmut Eschrich was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Rafael Wallenberg and
Daniel Schubert.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Gaúcho.
The following players had been chosen: Cardoso Jr. - Etchechury, Souza Lima, Mascarenhas, Cignoni - Solemar, Penha Jr., Christofoletti, Bonavitta - Gomes Jr., Correia.
Neblina decided to use a 3-4-3 set up.
Starters: Oros - Zorino, 达冲 (Dachong), Naumov - Chevrel, Brettoni, Johnsen, Hagfeldt - Herrera, Girardi, Özarpa.
Gaúcho saw most attack opportunities on the wings.
Today, Neblina's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks.
After 23 minutes, Neblina's
I. Zorino made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1.
After 25 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
G. Girardi a chance to increase the lead for Neblina, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 2.
The visitors'
G. Johnsen took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 26 minutes into the match. 0 - 3 for Neblina.
G. Brettoni was, after 32 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper
D. Cardoso Jr. made the save.
G. Johnsen received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 33 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 4. The Neblina fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of Neblina lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.

J. Hagfeldt burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 6.
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Gaúcho's
W. Solemar was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 75 minutes.
J. Vaqueiro was given a chance to change things around.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
G. Girardi got himself booked. The manager of Neblina was not happy.
