Dark skies made the crowd of 40000 at Arena Monumental do C R Flasucesso a little nervous, but the rain held off. Almeida from Semíramis a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 21 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! L. Pegado of Flasucesso had to be helped off the pitch as an injury meant he was unable to finish the game. A. Takhar came in to finish the match. Players in Flasucesso heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead. After 27 minutes, H. Orduña got through on the right and was very close to equalising for the home side, but didn't get the shot away. The referee showed Semíramis's A. Guarinon the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. A loud groan was heard from the fans of Flasucesso, as S. Gimiński left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. J. Väntti took his place on the field. The crowd was on its feet 30 minutes into the match, as Flasucesso's A. Corsini found himself unmarked in front of the goal after a dash up the left side. He calmly put away the 1 - 1 equaliser. It was 1 - 1 at the break. Flasucesso had most of the ball, with 56 percent of possession.

Flasucesso had a good opportunity to take the lead as J. Väntti came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of M. Wahlland. An accurate cross from G. Pena of Semíramis was met with a wonderful glancing header from R. Capixaba, hitting the inside base of the post before nestling into the back of the net for 1 - 2. As the game started to slip away for Flasucesso, the manager decided to change the tactical approach. With the crowd on their feet chanting wildly, some great moves down the right hand side after 81 minutes gave Flasucesso a wonderful opportunity to level the score, and F. Pastoret stepped up to the challenge. 2 - 2 Semíramis's L. Berloni left the field after 82 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was C. Amiotti. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Flasucesso, with 60 percent of the ball.

J. Dukarić performed admirably for Flasucesso. F. Pastoret was a disappointment, however. Semíramis's best player was C. Almeida. M. Leitão turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 2 - 2.
