The 12000 spectators at Konami Stadium were in for an afternoon of sunshine. Jared Spain was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Meinte Hamster and Mirco Röhrmoos. The head coach flashed hand signals from the sideline and Superstar formed up in a 3-5-2 combination. Let's hope the opposing sideline wasn't filming that. The following players took the field: Santos - Dabelsteen, Nanico, Rakuzy - Alon, Müller, Temnitschka, de Castro, Mezenga - Hadzhistoyanov, Izu.

Our studio analysts were correct. Transcend has taken the field in a 4-4-2 alignment. Starters: Braga Jr. - Gaeta, Sant'Anna, Carioca, Zanon - Ferla, Nasser, Fossas, Mourão - Táuba, Dias Xavier.

Using their brilliant skill, Superstar pushed their attacks towards the wings. The game had been going for 10 minutes when L. Nanico came in on the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to put away the 1 - 0 goal, giving Superstar the lead. After 18 minutes, Superstar's A. Rakuzy successfully broke up a pass with his face. Instinctively, he got up again only to unintentionally use his now-throbbing schnozz to break up a second pass. As he was carted off for a concussion check, D. Pollard ran onto the field to take his place. Superstar's L. Müller was delighted to score as he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing keeper and into the net, following some good attacking movement on the right wing. 2 - 0 after 21 minutes. The score became 3 - 0 with 26 minutes played, when Superstar were given a penalty. M. Alon made no mistake and increased the home lead. M. Alon increased Superstar's lead to 4 - 0, connecting with a hooked ball from the right. The away fans are claiming handball, to no avail. Confident in their lead, Superstar's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Several players seemed a little dazed by the warm weather, and were repeatedly tricked by the clever and agile N. Dias Xavier. G. Hadzhistoyanov was not content with his team's lead, and tried to extend it 37 minutes into the game after a nice run through the middle, but his shot went wide. T. Dabelsteen of Superstar received a yellow card after 38 minutes for unsportsmanlike behavior. The teams went for the halftime break at 4 - 0. Superstar were doing a good job holding on to the ball, with 81 percent of possession.

Superstar's M. Alon struck his penalty well enough to beat the goalkeeper and extend the home team's lead to 5 - 0 after 56 minutes. He'd already scored two, and with the third, M. Alon had a hattrick! Superstar added another goal to their lead as M. Alon struck home for 6 - 0 after an attack from the left set him up unmarked in front of the keeper. Usually a powerful player on the field, R. Izu looked rather pale and tired under the hot sun. M. Alon increased Superstar's lead to 7 - 0 with a penalty spot cannonball. L. Mezenga was usually one of the fastest around, but after a few lightning-like runs, the heat seemed to have drained him of his energy. Superstar were given a penalty after 88 minutes - neatly put away by M. Alon. 8 - 0 for the home side. Superstar had a magnificent opportunity with 88 minutes gone as L. Nanico hit the ball hard from the edge of the penalty box. However, the shot went wide. Superstar set the tempo, maintaining 83 percent of possession.

Most important Superstar player was C. de Castro. Good thing E. Santos isn't a horse, because he'd surely be sent to the glue factory after that performance. Transcend's best player was Q. Mourão. Speaking of stinking up the place, U. Gaeta sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham. The match ends 8 - 0.
