Nepomuceno bent under the crossbar - 0 - 2! A lunatic dribble by D. Bisognin, in front of his own keeper, set up Sagacidade's D. Matos for an embarrassingly easy strike after 21 minutes. 0 - 3! Confident in their lead, Sagacidade's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. The home crowd was not impressed when D. Matos came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 28 minutes. Sagacidade were now up 0 - 4. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, J. Juruna got himself booked. The manager of Contreiras was not happy. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave F. Boaventura from Sagacidade a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 34 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! It was obvious that Sagacidade had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle. With 39 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed N. Đồng Mãn of Sagacidade to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 5. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 5. Sagacidade claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 52 percent.

J. Kalniņš could have put his team up another goal 58 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. Sagacidade will have to do without P. Kalkstein for a time, due to a bad foot injury at the 60 minute mark. He was substituted by M. Mastropasqua. The crowd groaned when A. Maravilha, having maneuvered his way down the right, fired the ball just wide and missed a great opportunity to reduce the deficit for Contreiras. The visitors' I. Nepomuceno took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 64 minutes into the match. 0 - 6 for Sagacidade. M. Mastropasqua of Sagacidade received a yellow card after 65 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Sagacidade had most of the ball, with 51 percent of possession.
