Clear skies welcomed the 41329 spectators who had made their way to Olimpi Confianza FC. Panithan Kraisomdech was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Ezio Stefani and Franz Baumlin. All of Montevideo was shut down for the day, as fans of both clubs came to the derby. A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Confianza. The wings were the focus of most of La Toronja's attacks today. After 15 minutes, La Toronja put themselves up 0 - 1, as D. Claps finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot. Just a few inches to the right, and the visitors could have had a goal 24 minutes into the match. Q. Batalha surely wishes he could do that free kick over again. After 25 minutes Confianza's X. Morgó contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. 27 minutes into the game a free kick by Q. Batalha found its way through the home side's poorly assembled defensive formation, making La Toronja's lead 0 - 2. Players in La Toronja heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead. La Toronja increased their lead after 30 minutes when A. Paraná broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 3, much to the home crowd's dismay. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 3. La Toronja enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 89 percent of possession.

S. Lee increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 4. At this point, it was obvious that the players of La Toronja lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. With 62 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed M. Robin of La Toronja to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 5. 65 minutes in, Confianza's D. Yitzchaki received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. La Toronja's M. Robin got himself booked for a foul. A loud groan was heard from the fans of Confianza, as B. Stachowski left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. P. Fubel took his place on the field. J. Perica became the new Confianza captain. Some fine movement on the left led to a La Toronja goal after 72 minutes, making it 0 - 6. E. Varini was noted down as the scorer. La Toronja's S. Marthinsen left the field after 77 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was R. Gálvez. A drive down the left side allowed C. Apap to get in close and score another goal for La Toronja after 79 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 7. After 85 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed D. Claps to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 8. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by La Toronja, with 92 percent of the ball.

X. Morgó performed admirably for Confianza. J. Brown turned in a dismal performance, however. La Toronja's best player was E. Varini. R. Gálvez was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 8.
