GIRLS 1 - 3 Caneloness (376234465)

12000 punters turned up at LAS GIRLS F.C Arena, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. 李 (Li) 航任 (Hangren) was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Aljoša Rudić and Totte Grundstål. GIRLS had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. The following players took the field: Priario - Hernández, Mujica, Pluto, Rotti - Lugones, Venerdi, Oblongo, Santander - Gómez, Sotelo.

A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Caneloness. They fielded: Matusevicius - German, Sambuceti, Almodóvar, Decia - Ballesteros, Di Napoli, Marenco, Macías - Márquez, Elduayen.

M. Marenco behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 14 minutes as he gave the ball away to L. Venerdi. Lucky for him though, there was no goal. Some great play up the middle by GIRLS led to a chance for N. Santander to score after 23 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar. Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Caneloness's V. Macías somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for J. Márquez, who struck for 0 - 1. Had it not been for one of the home defenders, V. Almodóvar would have put Caneloness up another goal 32 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing. With 38 minutes having been played, GIRLS scored to make it 1 - 1. A dribble down the left wing, followed by a shot which took a wicked bounce off a defender resulted in the keeper having no chance. Everyone thought it'd been an own goal, but C. Gómez was marked down as the scorer. V. Macías of Caneloness received a yellow card after 39 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. The terraces were silenced after 40 minutes when Caneloness's G. Decia put the guests ahead 1 - 2, following an attack on the right. Halftime score was 1 - 2. GIRLS claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 55 percent.

Some fine passing in the middle of the pitch, carving open the away defence, should have led to a goal for GIRLS, but E. Sotelo's shot went over the bar. Some fine movement on the left led to a Caneloness goal after 74 minutes, making it 1 - 3. T. Di Napoli was noted down as the scorer. Caneloness's J. Márquez was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 78 minutes. GIRLS had most of the ball, with 56 percent of possession.

GIRLS's top performer was clearly C. Gómez. E. Priario on the other hand, had a terrible day. Caneloness's best player was J. Márquez. E. Sambuceti turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 3.
