previous 6/10 next 8/10  ToqueyTalento 3 - 2 Deportipo (376245050)

5617 fans braved the pouring rain at ToqueyTalento Arena. Florian Amarowicz was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Cornelius Soltanmoradi and Edgar Holstein-Beck. Fans of both teams had been eagerly awaiting this Montevideo derby and were doing their best to outshout their opponents. ToqueyTalento had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. Starters: Plada - Moore, Chanes, López, Cianciarulo - López, Paredes, Piazza, Parada - Strauss, Méndez.

Deportipo tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. They fielded: Diekenta - Mercader, Techera, Hörtnagl, Araquelian - Beler, Toutsidis, Pétel, Sprunger - Villagrán, Ferreira.

Deportipo took a creative approach on the field. The boggy pitch disrupted the game, especially for technical players like D. Strauss. After 28 minutes of play, J. Chanes gave the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right. The bench was restless, and with 41 minutes passed Deportipo's coach gave M. Brisset the opportunity the player had been hoping for. E. Araquelian reluctantly left the field. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of ToqueyTalento to 2 - 0 as B. Méndez finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 0. This part of the game was a standoff between the teams in terms of possession.

A bit later, Deportipo's G. Ferreira easily reduced the lead to 2 - 1 after a misunderstanding in the home side's central defence. Deportipo's J. Sprunger had a good first touch on the flank, but was crowded and, after a change of plan, sent the ball to G. Beler who somehow managed to curl the ball wide. After 55 minutes, Deportipo switched G. Villagrán with Z. Kleczyński, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. 62 minutes into the game ToqueyTalento managed a counterattack, but Y. Parada took a soft shot from the left flank that was easy prey for the alert keeper. ToqueyTalento's F. López swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. K. Toutsidis finished off a quick charge from the left of the field by chipping the ball just past the home side's keeper, making the score 2 - 2 67 minutes into the match. A questionable penalty 69 minutes in gave the home side the lead, 3 - 2. The visitors' goalie didn't stand a chance as R. Moore knocked the ball home. ToqueyTalento's E. Cianciarulo was shown a yellow card after 75 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Deportipo had most of the ball, with 52 percent of possession.

F. López performed admirably for ToqueyTalento. On the other hand, L. Plada's play was disheartening. Deportipo's top performer was clearly G. Ferreira. R. Techera on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 2.
