Feder 2 - 3 Santos
(376284274)

28-05-2012 00.50
It had rained all day, but 51181 hardy fans still made it out to
GRANADA ESTADIO.
Barthélémy Restoux was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
John Heany and
Rudolf Bollenbacher.
Feder started off with a 2-5-3 lineup.
Lineup: Duchêne - Deschacht, Amichai - Yalım, Pellegrini, Manzur, Silbergasser, Katzburg - Rauscher, Paz, Boronat.
Santos tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination.
The following players took the field: Björkstedt - Palacios, Lander, Bravo, Ionescu - Riutta, Papoutselis, Straßenfeld, Davidson, Iranzo - Goasguen.
Feder saw most attack opportunities on the wings.
19 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for Feder to take the lead after a good cross from the right found
M. Rauscher alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post.
After 28 minutes, Santos's
A. Goasguen made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1.
With 30 minutes having been played, Feder scored to make it 1 - 1. A dribble down the left wing, followed by a shot which took a wicked bounce off a defender resulted in the keeper having no chance. Everyone thought it'd been an own goal, but
J. Manzur was marked down as the scorer.
With 32 minutes played
F. Pellegrini almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide.
34 minutes into the game, Feder had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to
solid.
The corner kick from
F. Lander was powerfully met by the head of
J. Palacios to make the score 1 - 2.
The home crowd was pulling their hair out after
M. Rauscher missed a penalty shot by miles 37 minutes into the game.
The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 2.
Neither team were able to dominate possession this half.
A review of the gameplan helped Feder get back to a
excellent organisation when the referee blew his whistle again.
D. Paz was struggling to make the ball dance with his usual trickery and panache, and the opposing players had little trouble shutting him down in these muddy conditions.
After a fatal mistake from the away team's right side defence 71 minutes into the match, an alert
M. Rauscher bagged the ball for Feder, levelling the score to 2 - 2.
77 minutes into the game, Feder seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
inadequate level of organisation.
With 80 minutes played, the excellent ball from the wing by Santos's
E. Iranzo reached
A. Goasguen's head, and he is not one to miss such an opportunity - 2 - 3.
I. Ionescu came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over
B. Duchêne but overcooked it and hit the bar instead.
The muddy pitch made the game a gritty affair, which seemed to suit
I. Amichai just fine.
Santos claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.
Feder's top performer was clearly
I. Amichai.
B. Duchêne turned in a dismal performance, however.
The most dominating Santos player was without a doubt
G. Papoutselis.
A. Riutta on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 2 - 3.
