Gunners decided to play creatively.

M. Rada finished off a spectacular series of passes through the middle to even the score for United 18 minutes into the match. 1 - 1.
United were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally.
Some great play up the middle by United led to a chance for
P. Shang to score after 23 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar.
United's
T. André was shown a yellow card after 29 minutes for slicing down an opponent.

R. Lingren caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 65 minutes. This gave United the 2 - 1 lead.
The referee showed Gunners's
H. Croft the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
A. Sizemore squirmed through their central defence after 68 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 1.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
P. Shang got himself booked. The manager of United was not happy.
United increased the lead as
T. André struck to make the score 4 - 1 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper.
The players of United now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
United managed to extend their lead to 5 - 1 when
K. Abt cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
With 87 minutes played,
T. Aviles of Gunners fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
United's
A. Gallina increased the lead to 6 - 1, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 88 minutes.
United had most of the ball, with 83 percent of possession.
M. Rada performed admirably for United.
However,
R. Campbell made a disastrous appearance.
Most important Gunners player was
M. Pellman.
D. Choy on the other hand, had a terrible day.
