InterVen 10 - 0 Sauron

The 30271 spectators at El Cantor Eneas Perdomo were in for an afternoon of sunshine. Håkan Flinkquist was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Karl R. Nyborg and Wisis Lütolf. InterVen tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination. Lineup: Guizado - Suárez, Rebolledo - Gimenez, Luque, Rivas, Ascanio, Chamarreta - Mallek, Pardini, Viloria.

Sauron had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. Starters: Molina - Terry, Faría, Gotera, Morillo - Añez, Mora, Marín, Ordoñez - Pedrique, Murga.

D. Mallek gave InterVen the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 1 - 0 InterVen's D. Mallek was shown a yellow card after 24 minutes for slicing down an opponent. G. Pardini increased the lead for InterVen to 2 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! InterVen's A. Luque increased the lead to 3 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 39 minutes. After this, you could see that the players of InterVen were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. F. Morillo of Sauron received a yellow card after 42 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. After 43 minutes, D. Mallek put InterVen ahead 4 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. InterVen's J. Viloria was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 44 minutes. The teams went for the halftime break at 4 - 0. InterVen had most of the ball, with 70 percent of possession.

InterVen increased the lead as D. Mallek struck to make the score 5 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. That made three goals for D. Mallek and he was marked down for the hat trick. C. Ríos was called on to replace Sauron's N. Añez after 67 minutes following a nasty collision. Several players seemed a little dazed by the warm weather, and were repeatedly tricked by the clever and agile F. Morillo. The home side's D. Mallek curled a free kick home after 75 minutes, putting InterVen ahead 6 - 0. InterVen put themselves up 7 - 0 when J. Suárez broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. D. Mallek squirmed through their central defence after 82 minutes, increasing the lead to 8 - 0. 86 minutes were showing on the scoreboard when InterVen's D. Mallek received his second yellow card and was sent off. A loud groan was heard from the fans of Sauron, as R. Terry left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. D. Castilla took his place on the field. InterVen put themselves up 9 - 0 when J. Viloria broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. After 89 minutes, InterVen sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached G. Pardini, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 10 - 0. InterVen claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 74 percent.

Most important InterVen player was S. Ascanio. J. Suárez on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Sauron player was without a doubt C. Mora. C. Ordoñez was a disappointment, however. The match ends 10 - 0.
