The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 215 had shown up at Stader camp for the match. Arvi Lipsanen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Bálint Mányoki and Gilberto Brenha. Napoletans started off with a 2-5-3 lineup. Lineup: Tusień - Janasik, Marquetti - Mourato, Carmenati, Al-Hasan, Liit, Di Grazia - De Masi, Perry, Emmanuel.

Marlyn decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Starters: Banzato - Frezzolino, Chiu, Maiorano - Öhborg, Fidalgo, Monroy, Cortonesi, Tapuchi - Kron, Cento.

Marlyn went for a narrow approach, focusing their attacks down the middle. B. Emmanuel's name was chanted throughout the stadium after his goal in minute 3 following a run up the middle gave Napoletans the 1 - 0 lead. Marlyn leveled the score after 16 minutes to make it 1 - 1, as J. Kron struck home after a fine midfield combination through the middle left him completely unmarked. Making his way up the middle after 27 minutes, S. De Masi almost managed to sneak a goal past the visitors' keeper, but B. Banzato was ready and blocked it to keep the score level. Some great play up the middle by Napoletans led to a chance for B. Emmanuel to get the go-ahead goal with 28 minutes played, but the shot hit the crossbar. Halftime score was 1 - 1. Napoletans won the midfield battle for the half, with 55 percent possession of the ball.

After a fine move down the middle G. Di Grazia nearly put the home side one up with 65 minutes played. His final touch escaped him though and the keeper smothered the ball. Napoletans's G. Di Grazia tried to break through the middle repeatedly, but the visitors' defenders were just too alert. The home side put themselves ahead 2 - 1 after 73 minutes of hard work with a breakthrough from D. Marquetti, who, all by his lonesome, came out of the right wing and hooked the ball over the visitors' keeper. The home side's H. Mourato twisted a free kick home with 74 minutes played, putting Napoletans ahead 3 - 1. The statistics showed Napoletans in control of the ball, with 54 percent possession.

The most dominating Napoletans player was without a doubt S. Al-Hasan. M. Tusień turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Marlyn player was J. Kron. L. Cento was a disappointment, however. The match ends 3 - 1.
