tarıkspor 1 - 0 AFC
(377067390)

07-03-2012 08.00
33559 spectators had come to
Gümüş Arena this cloudy day.
Stefan Stensson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Ciprian Rosu and
Jozef Siheľa.
A 5-4-1 alignment was the formation of choice for tarıkspor.
The following players had been chosen: Öztay - Mümtaz, Sultan, Tanzarella, Gürses, Rekin - Holat, Çelik, Telmar, Henhappel - Sassendorf.
AFC tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination.
The following players took the field: Hagenlocher - Oger, Faitelli, Malawski - Tekin, Wynant, Breukers, Koolmoes - Nielsen, Hoyos, Hattat.
It was an obvious ambition of AFC to use their ability at attacking on the flanks.
The guests almost went up by a goal after 5 minutes when
A. Koolmoes came through and shot from the right. The ball bounced harmlessly off the post, though.
10 minutes in, tarıkspor's
Ö. Telmar received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
E. Hoyos had a good opportunity to give AFC the lead as he charged down the right and struck the ball towards the top corner, but the home team's goalkeeper made the save.
S. Öztay looked great 26 minutes into the match after stopping a shot from the middle of the penalty area from the visitors'
N. Nielsen.
0 - 0 was the score after the first half.
tarıkspor claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.
AFC's
G. Tekin got himself booked for a foul.
It might be a while before the fans see AFC's
A. Hagenlocher again, after he had to leave the field in great distress at the 73 minute mark. He was replaced by
L. Neumeier.
Many thought
M. Sassendorf ought to have been awarded a penalty 77 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around
L. Neumeier after a determined run through the middle.
N. Nielsen would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
K. Rouhier entered the game for AFC as the match clock showed 78 minutes.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
K. Rouhier from AFC a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 80 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
As the 84 minute mark approached, the AFC coach decided it was time for a substitution.
K. Malawski reluctantly made way for
D. Gündüzhan on the pitch.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by tarıkspor, with 64 percent of the ball.
With the scores being level after 90 minutes, the match went into extra time.
After some beautiful movement down the left wing,
O. Çelik scored for tarıkspor putting them ahead 1 - 0, after 98 minutes.
Extra time over, tarıkspor were the victors!
tarıkspor's top performer was clearly
H. Holat.
S. Öztay turned in a dismal performance, however.
AFC's best player was
G. Wynant.
However,
L. Neumeier made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 1 - 0.
