06-03-2012 19.20
Clear skies welcomed the 1613 spectators who had made their way to
stadio dei campioni.
Dethlef Frankreiter was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Eftichis Sifakakis and
Manuel Palacios.
TRAINSPOTT started off with a 5-4-1 lineup.
The following players had been chosen: Comandini - Shapira, López Negredo, Centrella, Knarvik, Bretaud - Niklewski, Campos, Casadei, Savasci - dos Santos.
Lillisdream decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
The following players took the field: Ratingen - Uusitalo, Parkkisenniemi, Collazo - Böhmskamp, Klaar, van der Toorn, Plater, Herberich - Borndiek, Morup.
TRAINSPOTT were relying on their ability to counter-attack.
After 23 minutes a very unfortunate collision in the penalty area led to Lillisdream's
S. Ratingen being carried off the pitch and replaced by
R. Çakır.
A. Comandini looked great 35 minutes into the match after stopping a shot from the middle of the penalty area from the visitors'
A. Klaar.
36 minutes into the game TRAINSPOTT managed a counterattack, but
M. Centrella took a soft shot from the left flank that was easy prey for the alert keeper.
Y. Shapira behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 38 minutes as he gave the ball away to
K. Herberich. Lucky for him though, there was no goal.
39 minutes into the game,
A. Klaar almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar.
M. Knarvik seemed highly inexperienced when, after 42 minutes, he was caught dilly-dallying with the ball and allowed
L. Morup to intercept and strike home the goal for Lillisdream to make the score 0 - 1.
After the ball was lifted in from the left,
L. Morup was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 44 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration.
TRAINSPOTT almost scored after a swift counterattack 44 minutes into the game, but
M. Centrella put the shot from the left flank just outside the goal.
Halftime score was 0 - 1.
Lillisdream enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 69 percent of possession.
A foul called during a TRAINSPOTT counterattack resulted in a great chance to score, but
J. Bretaud's shot rattled off the post.
After 72 minutes of play, Lillisdream's
L. Borndiek unexpectedly struck an inside out ball from no angle at all and
L. Morup slotted it into the net for 0 - 2.
With the scoreboard showing that 74 minutes had been played, Lillisdream nearly put themselves up another goal after
K. Herberich came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save.
Possession in this half belonged to Lillisdream, who controlled the ball 75 percent of the time.
The most dominating TRAINSPOTT player was without a doubt
M. Centrella.
On the other hand,
A. Comandini's play was disheartening.
Most important Lillisdream player was
G. Plater.
However,
R. Çakır made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 0 - 2.
