Domanín 3 - 1 Phantoms (377515837)

The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 91000 had shown up at Domanínský plácek for the match. Ciriaco Kaspar was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Stephan von der Goltz and Jozua Wouwermans. Domanín started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Cuninghame-Green - 尊华 (Zunhua) , Heiniger, Marczak - da Fontaneira, Tkalić, Otziger, Belik, Wenglorz - Machala, Kopietz.

Phantoms tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. They fielded: Dessì - Singewald, Forget, Kokoška - Sunil, Pandey, Attimarad, Dyl, Bowman - Virco, Singh.

Domanín took the lead 23 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as A. Otziger elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. 28 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as I. Marczak broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for Domanín. After 32 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by M. Belik might have resulted in another goal for Domanín. However, G. Dessì made a spectacular save. Halftime score was 2 - 0. Possession was split evenly between the teams.

M. Belik could have put Domanín up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 54 minutes. M. Tkalić could have increased the lead after 60 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. In a rapid move 64 minutes into the match, J. Bowman of Phantoms lost his man and passed the ball to the unmarked I. Singh who easily hit it home to make it 2 - 1. Luckily the ref didn't see him taunting the opposing fans in celebration - naughty boy! After 68 minutes, Phantoms used a short break in the game to take new instructions from their coach. With 69 minutes played, the Phantoms coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. D. Singh came on, J. Singewald had to leave the fray. The home side's F. Wenglorz came close to extending the lead 71 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but G. Dessì managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. With 82 minutes played, Domanín put themselves up 3 - 1 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to M. Belik, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. Neither team was controlling the possession at this point in the match, with the stats showing a 50:50 split.

H. Cuninghame-Green performed admirably for Domanín. C. Kopietz was a disappointment, however. Phantoms's best player was V. Pandey. However, S. Forget made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 3 - 1.
