(377539273)

21-03-2012 22.40
Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 37682 to
Red Wall Arena.
Patrick Bohning-Gaese was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Sepp Sønderskov and
John Grey.
Atlético tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
The following players took the field: Cymek - Negrilă, Rudkin, Kubát - Albano, Nordman, Dechent, Lagos, Andonaegui - Erčulj, Masschelein.
A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Reñaca.
Starters: Flemming - Chojan, Riemhofer, Gamboa - Lobillo, Bornstein, Kindermann, Andrada - Hanssen, Marileo, Livingstone.
Atlético used their skill at pressing to cut off the attack angles of their opponents all over the field.
Against a lesser team, Reñaca could very well have succeeded with their smart indirect free kick routine after 17 minutes. A trio of passes took the ball all the way past the defenders, but by then the intended recipient was already blocked off and the keeper could make a leisurely save.
Atlético's
A. Rudkin was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 39 minutes.
After 40 minutes a well-practised indirect free kick routine by Reñaca was easily anticipated by the defenders. The players forward were so well marked, they were left with few viable options.
The guests took the lead 42 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in
S. Andrada scoring to make it 0 - 1.
With 43 minutes played, Reñaca put themselves up 0 - 2 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was
J. Hanssen.
By now, the players in Reñaca felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
Atlético pressed their opponents, causing the game to be a bit of a stalemate at times.
0 - 2 was the halftime score.
Reñaca enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 62 percent of possession.
With 68 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of Atlético resulted in a counterattack that set
P. Albano free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save.
Reñaca increased their lead after 69 minutes when
S. Chojan broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 3, much to the home crowd's dismay.
The visitors'
J. Hanssen took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 75 minutes into the match. 0 - 4 for Reñaca.
After 85 minutes, Reñaca's
R. Marileo burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 5.
Reñaca claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 62 percent.
Atlético's best player was
O. Dechent.
A. Cymek on the other hand, had a terrible day.
J. Hanssen performed admirably for Reñaca.
On the other hand,
E. Lobillo's play was disheartening.
The match ends 0 - 5.
