2700 spectators arrived at Marco Van Basten Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for soccer. Antonio Salles was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Barrett Dube and Niek van der Spek. The head coach flashed hand signals from the sideline and Neudorf formed up in a 3-4-3 combination. Let's hope the opposing sideline wasn't filming that. Starters: Broquet - Fauchet, Jobard, Belaoui - Auger, Hahn, Rameau, Dumoulin - Raimbault, Guesnon, Beck.

Our studio analysts were correct. BergaBoys(BB) has taken the field in a 5-4-1 alignment. The following players had been selected: Miloradović - Andersson, Svensson, Bergman, Åkesson, Wiander - Castelló, Mehlich, Wedgren, Kjeldsen - Barksal.

It was obvious, dreadfully boring, and yet tantalizingly effective, to see BergaBoys(BB) using their inadequate pressing skills as their primary tactic. After 1 minutes, the Neudorf coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving C. Guesnon off. S. Cantais took his place. Neudorf took the lead 18 minutes in, after S. Cantais's awkward, but ultimately successful, shot from the right. 1 - 0. Neudorf's A. Fauchet was delighted to score as he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing keeper and into the net, following some good attacking movement on the right wing. 2 - 0 after 41 minutes. After 42 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as BergaBoys(BB) found themselves out of position and their organization level dropped to inadequate. BergaBoys(BB)'s ability to press all over the field paid off frequently. 2 - 0 was the halftime score. The Count appeared on the jumbotron and announced that Neudorf had 65...65 percent possession. AH AH AH!

BergaBoys(BB)'s coach went over the strategy again during the break, and after that his players had solid organization. The Neudorf coach was happy with the scoreline, but still wanted to change the lineup. After 46 minutes, J. Desprès came on for T. Hahn. The Neudorf players could smell victory in the air. B. Auger wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for B. Frizon after 60 minutes. Things were going from bad to worse for the visitors. L. Rameau was able to squirm through the central defense after 65 minutes and score, bringing the lead to 3 - 0. BergaBoys(BB)'s B. Wedgren was shown a yellow card after 66 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Was it the hair gel? Was it a gift from the gods? Either way, the faithful won't care. Soaring like a Saturn V, A. Fauchet somehow got his head on a G. Dumoulin moonshot from the corner and buried it in the back of the net. What grace! What power! Plant the flag for Neudorf, Neil Armstrong! The score is now 4 - 0. Given a free kick from a ways out after 78 minutes, Neudorf sent an arching ball into the penalty box. It was headed clear, but B. Frizon was waiting just outside the area and fired it home to make it 5 - 0. Confident in their lead, Neudorf's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Neudorf's G. Dumoulin saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates 80 minutes in. Neudorf set the tempo, maintaining 71 percent of possession.

Neudorf's best player was J. Desprès. Speaking of stinking up the place, A. Broquet sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham. K. Kjeldsen performed admirably for BergaBoys(BB). You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because T. Åkesson seemed to stumble all over the pitch. The match ends 5 - 0.
