21-03-2012 15.25
2700 spectators arrived at
Marco Van Basten Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Antonio Salles was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Barrett Dube and
Niek van der Spek.
Neudorf tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination.
Starters: Broquet - Fauchet, Jobard, Belaoui - Auger, Hahn, Rameau, Dumoulin - Raimbault, Guesnon, Beck.
BergaBoys(BB) started off with a 5-4-1 lineup.
The following players had been chosen: Miloradović - Andersson, Svensson, Bergman, Åkesson, Wiander - Castelló, Mehlich, Wedgren, Kjeldsen - Barksal.
It was obvious that BergaBoys(BB) were using their pressing skill as their primary tactic.
After 1 minutes, the Neudorf coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
C. Guesnon off the field.
S. Cantais took his place.
Neudorf took the lead after 18 minutes as a result of
S. Cantais's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 1 - 0.
Neudorf's
A. Fauchet increased the lead to 2 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 41 minutes.
After 42 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as BergaBoys(BB) found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to
inadequate.
BergaBoys(BB)'s ability to press all over the field frequently paid dividends.
2 - 0 was the halftime score.
Neudorf claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 65 percent.
The coach gave his players an extra tactical briefing during the break, and after that BergaBoys(BB) had
solid organisation.
The coach of Neudorf was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 46 minutes,
J. Desprès came on for
T. Hahn.
The Neudorf players could smell victory in the air.
B. Auger wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
B. Frizon after 60 minutes.
Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
L. Rameau squirmed through their central defence after 65 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 0.
BergaBoys(BB)'s
B. Wedgren was shown a yellow card after 66 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
A well placed corner kick from
G. Dumoulin was followed by
A. Fauchet's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for Neudorf, the score now 4 - 0.
Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 78 minutes, Neudorf did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker,
B. Frizon was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 5 - 0.
Confident in their lead, Neudorf's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
Neudorf's
G. Dumoulin saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 80 minutes.
Neudorf enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 71 percent of possession.
Neudorf's best player was
J. Desprès.
A. Broquet was a disappointment, however.
K. Kjeldsen performed admirably for BergaBoys(BB).
