Minoma 1 - 7 Weber (377753675)

The crowd of 2516 turning up at Minoma Stadium today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain. Maxime Martinot was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Scottie Baak and Jelmer Hellenbrand. Minoma started off with a 5-4-1 lineup. Lineup: Riik - Sora, Martínek, Baatz, Juřička, Mižigár - Poláček, Švácha, Kos, Severa - Lelek.

A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Weber. Starters: Bækgaard - Klærke, Roland Olsen, Rathe - Yde, Brun, Løvgren, Tungstål - Harder, Buus, Richter.

V. Švácha would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. K. Zdráhal entered the game for Minoma as the match clock showed 1 minutes. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 16 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from F. Sora, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. J. Yde didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain. After 25 minutes, the visitors levelled the scores after J. Brun made it through the middle and struck home to make it 1 - 1. 28 minutes into the match, Weber's S. Tungstål demonstrated his famed speed as he raced past his marker and passed the ball to K. Harder who chipped it in for 1 - 2. After 34 minutes, E. Poláček got through on the right and was very close to equalising for the home side, but didn't get the shot away. K. Harder increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 1 - 3. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, V. Richter got himself booked. The manager of Weber was not happy. The home crowd was not impressed when G. Rathe came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 39 minutes. Weber were now up 1 - 4. Confident in their lead, Weber's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. L. Klærke was, after 40 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper A. Riik made the save. It was 1 - 4 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to Weber, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.

With 55 minutes played, E. Poláček was very close to reducing the score for Minoma with a low drive from the left, but a defender stuck his foot out just in the nick of time, blocking the shot to a corner. The boggy pitch disrupted the game, especially for technical players like N. Martínek. J. Brun wanted to play on, but the Weber coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 70 minutes into the game by S. Bentili. S. Tungstål was the new captain of Weber - handed the armband by the departing player. Some fine movement on the left led to a Weber goal after 76 minutes, making it 1 - 5. K. Harder was noted down as the scorer. By then K. Harder had scored three goals - a hat trick! Weber's J. Yde was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 81 minutes. After 83 minutes, Weber sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached V. Richter, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 1 - 6. It was a bad day for the usually speedy E. Poláček. The mud seemed to slow him down. After 89 minutes, J. Yde sent the corner kick right to L. Klærke who headed it sharply past the keeper. 1 - 7! M. Buus came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over A. Riik but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot coming in from the right from G. Rathe after 89 minutes, and prevented Weber from going up another goal. Weber enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 63 percent of possession.

G. Baatz performed admirably for Minoma. On the other hand, A. Riik's play was disheartening. Weber's best player was S. Bentili. O. Roland Olsen was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 7.
