gastby 0 - 5 BangHak

37550 spectators had found their way to FC gastby Arena, despite the heavy rain. Rahim Taya was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Bogdan Szeliga and Floyd Fosdyke. After thorough analysis and consultation of astrological charts, gastby decided to go with a 4-4-2 formation. The following players had been selected: Hemmi - Stamerra, Sinnesael, Vindeløv, Naim - Benkoe, Statucki, de Almeida, Westermann - Staněk, Perkel.

Gentlemen prefer blondes and BangHak prefers a 5-5-0. Let's see how this plays out for them. Starters: Kiković - Barreteau, Koscholke, Biazzi, Nöttinghof, Ilse - Ustara, Li, Gillby, Sterl, Hangl -.

gastby demonstrated their creative tactics on the field. BangHak were mostly trying to use their world class skill at attacking on the flanks. BangHak took the lead after L. Gillby curved a free kick into the net. 0 - 1. Some fine one-twos on the left led to a BangHak goal with 19 minutes gone, making it 0 - 2. S. Barreteau was noted down as the scorer. The visitors added to their lead 22 minutes into the game, after a sensational penalty kick by BangHak's L. Gillby slid just past the home keeper. 0 - 3. The boggy field disrupted the game, especially for technical players like I. Staněk who couldn't move the ball with his usual delicate touches. Maybe it was because of his team's lead, or maybe it was due to the ease with which he broke down the left, but C. Ilse was a bit too sure of his talents, so instead of taking the easy tap-in goal after 36 minutes, he went for the backheel, which he put woefully wide. BangHak were determined to attack down the sideline and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favor of the wings. 0 - 3 was the halftime score. BangHak set the tempo, maintaining 66 percent of possession.

The game was characterized by rough play and many physical challenges on the wet field, but S. Koscholke showed great heart and had a good game. BangHak's M. Hangl made it through the home team's defense on the right hand side 54 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded net when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line. The referee showed gastby's I. Staněk the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. In an effort to secure the lead, BangHak changed their tactics after 60 minutes. The BangHak coach was visibly pleased with the score so far, but still ordered a few tactical changes 60 minutes into the game. Big paper red cards were being held up by the opposing supporters with 61 minutes on the clock after B. Naim's mistimed tackle from behind. The referee only showed the gastby player a yellow card though. 74 minutes into the game, H. Vindeløv had to leave the field due to a knee injury. In came L. Praxl. Proving that a foot massage and a pre-game pedicure can work wonders, L. Gillby sent a rocket into the box from the corner, finding C. Ilse, who headed it past the keeper with extreme prejudice. 81 minutes in and it's 0 - 4! At this point, it was obvious that the players of BangHak lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. Attacking on the wings was the theme of the day for BangHak, and they were successfully passing the ball outside from the middle. 87 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 5 as C. Ilse finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular bicycle kick. The Count appeared on the jumbotron and announced that BangHak had 70...70 percent possession. AH AH AH!

E. Perkel performed admirably for gastby. I can't remember B. Naim ever having a worse night than he just had. BangHak's best player was L. Gillby. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because I. Ustara seemed to stumble all over the pitch. The match ends 0 - 5.
