FEYENOORD mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. AFK were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks. B. Winkler caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 4 minutes. This gave FEYENOORD the 1 - 0 lead. Cheers filled the stadium as P. Van Rossom broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to FEYENOORD. AFK's E. Fasseur was shown a yellow card after 28 minutes for slicing down an opponent. FEYENOORD solidified their lead at the 35 minute mark, as P. Van Rossom dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 0. T. Kouwen should probably have put his team up another goal after 42 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by I. Boncelj kept the visitors in the game. It was 3 - 0 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by FEYENOORD, with 82 percent of the ball.

With 61 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience, P. Kordov needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. A quick counter attack by AFK forced the opponent's defender to give away a freekick. M. Kuitunen was allowed to take it quickly by the referee, much to the dismay of the goalkeeper who wasn't prepared. 3 - 1! The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave G. Kaloutas from AFK a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 73 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! J. Lobeck's knee will be throbbing for days, but thankfully for FEYENOORD, he bravely continued in the match. With 76 minutes played, M. Kuitunen had a fantastic opportunity to reply but his shot flew harmlessly into the side-netting of the goal. AFK's M. Kuitunen had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 80 minutes having been played. P. Orkisz was the replacement. FEYENOORD claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 85 percent.

FEYENOORD's best player was P. Kordov. However, K. Richard made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating AFK player was without a doubt A. Derbali. P. Orkisz on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 1.
