3307 fans braved the pouring rain at brezimena Arena. David Arellano was the appointed referee. After thorough analysis and consultation of astrological charts, brezimena decided to go with a 3-4-3 formation. They fielded: Powell - Vitez, Matana, Corporales - Kučan, Kerin, van Diest, Bratan - Saksanen, Svěchota, Podoprigorinas.

Gentlemen prefer blondes and Pooch prefers a 2-5-3. Let's see how this plays out for them. Starters: Duro - Ingaramo, Zeigler - Nor, Heigermoser, Nessér, Dorosh, Rebagliati - Altman, Coulter, Zyunev.

Pooch were relying on their ability to counter-attack. Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 2 minutes into the match, and R. Nessér wasn't about to waste it. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 0 - 1 for the visitors. The muddy field made the game a gritty affair, which seemed to suit D. Vitez just fine. With the scoreboard showing that 29 minutes had been played, Pooch nearly put themselves up another goal after D. Coulter came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. The ball was in the back of the home team's net yet again after 30 minutes, but this time the referee called the goal back because D. Coulter had knocked a member of the opposing team to the ground while the play occurred down the middle of the field. brezimena's V. Podoprigorinas made a successful breakthrough on the left after 31 minutes and should have tied things up, but instead he sent it over the bar. After 38 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defense allowed D. Coulter to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 2. 0 - 2 was the score after the first half. The statistics geek breathlessly ran into the press box to show Pooch in control of the ball, with 62 percent possession. Thanks, Poindexter.

Given a free kick from an impossible angle, brezimena went for a play that loyal fans may recognize from training. A square ball surprised the defense and let M. Saksanen slip through at goal. He hit it first time, making the score 1 - 2, 53 minutes into the game. After 54 minutes, Pooch's Y. Zyunev burst through the central defense and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 1 - 3. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Pooch lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. brezimena's J. Kerin got the home crowd going bananas when he finished off a left wing bull rush, reducing the away team's lead to 2 - 3. A thrilling play through the middle after 67 minutes gave Pooch's Y. Zyunev a chance to increase the lead, and he happily obliged. The score was then 2 - 4. A. Powell got a fingertip on J. Rebagliati's shot from the left 68 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. After 69 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for M. Altman who increased Pooch's lead to 2 - 5. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Pooch, with an impressive 61 percent possession of the ball.

Most important brezimena player was V. Podoprigorinas. Good thing A. Powell isn't a horse, because he'd surely be sent to the glue factory after that performance. The local beauty queen presented Pooch's M. Altman with a prize turducken for being named Man of the Match. I can't remember L. Duro ever having a worse night than he just had. The match ends 2 - 5.
