2505 punters turned up at Bern Globetrotters Arena, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Scotty George was the appointed referee with assistance provided by David Zechmeister and Arne Steffenhagen. Globetrotters started off with a 5-5-0 lineup. A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Aplemont. They fielded: Limam - Adnot, Halperin, Muheim, Granato - Jaksch, Grønholdt, Vargas, Dreano - Kammer, Mãnescu.

Globetrotters took the lead 18 minutes in, as J. Schumpbach broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper. A well placed corner kick from R. Mãnescu was followed by R. Muheim's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for Aplemont, the score now 1 - 1. Globetrotters had a good opportunity to take the lead as T. Bresler came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of R. Limam. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1. Globetrotters enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 61 percent of possession.

The visitors were very close to gaining the lead with a marvellous free kick after 64 minutes, but J. Alloin made a beautiful one-handed save. Possession in this half belonged to Globetrotters, who controlled the ball 63 percent of the time.

Globetrotters's best player was F. Senn. On the other hand, P. Metzner's play was disheartening. The most dominating Aplemont player was without a doubt R. Muheim. R. Mãnescu turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 1.
