Pagodo 1 - 3 Engure (378222002)

The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 4609 had shown up at Pelomata Park for the match. Jerker Kupari was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Gonçalo Leme Araújo and Yona Saadon. Pagodo started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players took the field: Venegas Carrillo - Carrelli, Fattori, Fustini - Hagman, Demontis, Sinet, Mosconi, Fornaciari - Pappagallo, Mader.

Pagodo had a chance to take the lead after J. Sinet's dazzling drive up the left, but the opportunity fizzled out as his shot went just over the bar after 4 minutes. L. Fattori still has a lot to learn. For instance, he should know not to make half-hearted passes in front of M. Szmajdziński, who easily scored for Engure, making it 0 - 1. G. Bulis behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 20 minutes as he gave the ball away to J. Sinet. Lucky for him though, there was no goal. Given a free kick in a difficult position after 21 minutes, Pagodo tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish. Engure had to make a substitution after 37 minutes. O. Lasis limped off the field and was replaced by I. Sologub. 0 - 1 was the score after the first half. Pagodo claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 76 percent.

B. Fornaciari was just a finger's breadth away from an equaliser for Pagodo with a strike from the left, but K. Rohrmoser managed to ward the shot off for a corner. The crowd chanted their encouragement as Pagodo's N. Fustini came in from the right after 69 minutes and put the ball in the net to level the score at 1 - 1. Pagodo's B. Fornaciari was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 74 minutes. B. Nedret was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper. However, Engure's O. Ischenko managed to get hold of the rebound and tucked the ball into the empty net. 1 - 2 Some fine passing in the middle of the pitch, carving open the away defence, should have led to a goal for Pagodo, but B. Fornaciari's shot went over the bar. The counterattack by Engure resulted in a free kick that I. Maykov bent under the crossbar - 1 - 3! J. Rantalahti wanted to play on, but the Engure coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 89 minutes into the game by B. Durand. Possession in this half belonged to Pagodo, who controlled the ball 74 percent of the time.

J. Sinet performed admirably for Pagodo. L. Fattori was a disappointment, however. Most important Engure player was M. Szmajdziński. However, G. Urgnani made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 1 - 3.
