Having turned the direction of play quickly, the Brandenburger counter attack ended as the ball carrier was brought down violently by a defender after 31 minutes. The resulting free kick was a flat shot into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and did not allow the opponents to reach the ball. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 0. ellos claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 60 percent.

A great save by keeper C. Bremen after 74 minutes kept the visitors in the game after N. Claret struck from the left with a real cannonball. Brandenburger almost scored after a swift counterattack 75 minutes into the game, but B. Petersen put the shot from the left flank just outside the goal. Brandenburger's N. Palosaari left the field after 83 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was S. Troshenkov. 85 minutes in, an amazing pass from the left side resulted in a goal for the visitors, as M. Lundhstål anticipated the through ball and scored, reducing the deficit to 2 - 1. Brandenburger's counterattacks were lethal to the opposing defence, allowing F. Natter to score easily from the right flank for 2 - 2. ellos almost scored after a counterattack 89 minutes into the match, but N. Claret took a shot from the left that landed harmlessly in the side of the net. 89 minutes in, ellos's B. Mancebo received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by ellos, with 57 percent of the ball.
