2282 fans braved the pouring rain at
Welcome to HELL !!!.
Bohuš Pícha was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Carlos Maidana and
Artur Aguiar.
ÇARŞI tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
Starters: Fisker - Falero, Marconi, Dwyer - Bottone, Trezzi, Kostak, Espinosa, Mebuse - de Oliveira, Secher.
Nilan had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
They fielded: Schulter - Benedict, Heistand, Osmond - Deleveaux, Dahmer, Serve, Bärenfaller, Weiss - Untersinger, Rautenberg.
ÇARŞI mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle.
S. Bottone hit the corner kick straight to the keeper, but it was mishandled, giving ÇARŞI's
A. de Oliveira an easy chance to knock it in for 1 - 0.
Thighs bulging,
F. Benedict charged past the weaker players, seemingly oblivious to the rain.
G. Rautenberg made a run for the goal 15 minutes into the game but the home team's left back managed to sort the situation out in the end.
H. Osmond was uncomfortable with the soggy pitch as he couldn't move the ball around with his usual grace.
Cheers filled the stadium as
P. Dwyer broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to ÇARŞI.
The referee showed ÇARŞI's
Y. Kostak the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
After 31 minutes,
N. Secher put ÇARŞI ahead 3 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing.
When
Y. Kostak made yet another studs-first tackle after 34 minutes, the referee was obliged to book the ÇARŞI player for the second time, sending him off the pitch.
Nilan's
G. Rautenberg left the field after 35 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
G. Meredith.
With 44 minutes played, the Nilan coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around.
B. Pigueron came on,
M. Serve had to leave the fray.
3 - 0 was the halftime score.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Nilan, with 51 percent of the ball.
After 46 minutes, Nilan switched
G. Dahmer with
D. Erdinger, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
S. Bottone wanted to play on, but the ÇARŞI coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 61 minutes into the game by
J. Heinsvig.
A. de Oliveira left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 61 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
L. Campanaro was the replacement.
71 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
N. Secher broke through, making the score 4 - 0 for ÇARŞI.
Confident in their lead, ÇARŞI's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
B. Pigueron did not have a good day today, often losing his footing on the muddy pitch.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as ÇARŞI scored another to make it 5 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
J. Heinsvig after 75 minutes.
The home side's
J. Falero came close to extending the lead 76 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but
W. Schulter managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop.
ÇARŞI's
P. Dwyer got himself booked for a foul.
ÇARŞI claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.
ÇARŞI's top performer was clearly
L. Campanaro.
However,
S. Fisker made a disastrous appearance.
The most dominating Nilan player was without a doubt
B. Pigueron.
K. Heistand turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 5 - 0.
