Clouds darkened the skies at waterworld as 50000 spectators turned up for the match. Gustavo Barazarte was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Anton Pricop and Albert Dzioch. Fans of both teams had been eagerly awaiting this Zürich rivalry match and were doing their best to outshout their opponents. Cry "havoc" and let loose the dogs of war! leoleomaumau will go to battle in a 4-4-2 formation. The following players took the field: Capone - Kirk Jensen, Eriksson, Kuizenga, Sächsisch - van Hulten, Ritsche, Lippatapallop, Ferrara - Valenzano, Dreścik.

Gentlemen prefer blondes and Colombia prefers a 3-5-2. Let's see how this plays out for them. They fielded: Pareja - Burian, Mann, van Teijens - Grassia, Le Guern, Martins, Novak, Rabajda - Cascavita, Ortega.

Like the adage "bend but don't break", leoleomaumau will rely on their extra-terrestrial ability to counter-attack today. With the clock showing 1 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board. A. Mann looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for J. Sauders, though he would have liked to continue. The Colombia free kick 5 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But it was no mistake - S. Cascavita seemingly came out of nowhere and had miles of space to control the ball and pick his spot. That's 0 - 1! Colombia's F. Grassia had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 6 minutes gone. A. Van Den Driessche was the replacement. J. Rabajda was, after 12 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the center, but the home side's keeper F. Capone made the save. 22 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 2 as A. Van Den Driessche finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular bicycle kick. Halftime score was 0 - 2. Colombia were doing a good job holding on to the ball, with 58 percent of possession.

Proving that a foot massage and a pre-game pedicure can work wonders, C. Ferrara sent a rocket into the box from the corner, finding C. Lippatapallop, who headed it past the keeper with extreme prejudice. 50 minutes in and it's 1 - 2! H. van Teijens came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle, but his attempted chip over F. Capone just kept rising and landed in the relieved crowd. K. Dreścik showed why he is feared on the counter-attack, breaking through in the middle and scoring for leoleomaumau after 59 minutes to make the score 2 - 2. After 67 minutes, the leoleomaumau coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving C. Lippatapallop off. M. Štefan took his place. Some great play up the middle by leoleomaumau led to a chance for C. Ferrara to get the go-ahead goal with 70 minutes played, but the shot hit the crossbar. As the 72 minute mark approached, the leoleomaumau manager decided it was time for a substitution. B. Ritsche reluctantly made way for N. Vanhamäki. 73 minutes into the match, the referee signaled for a Colombia substitution. D. D'Angelo came on for J. Sauders. Down the middle came F. Ortega, making a fantastic play that nearly saw Colombia take the lead after 75 minutes, but F. Capone preserved the tie. Coming in from the right, leoleomaumau had a good opportunity to convert on a counter-attack after 76 minutes, but C. Ferrara's attempt was easily stopped. leoleomaumau created a good opportunity to score 79 minutes into the game when K. Dreścik's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, but the visitors' defenders eventually won out. With 81 minutes played, Colombia's F. Ortega received a yellow card for challenging a play with his cleats first. Colombia's J. Le Guern managed to lose the defenders as he burst through the right side and scored, putting the visitors ahead, 2 - 3. The referee showed Colombia's S. Burian the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. 84 minutes into the game, W. Sächsisch came close to leveling the score with a dangerous shot from the center of the area that went just over the bar. Colombia set the tempo, maintaining 54 percent of possession.

Most important leoleomaumau player was N. Valenzano. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because F. Capone seemed to stumble all over the pitch. The most outstanding Colombia player was without a doubt F. Ortega. Speaking of stinking up the place, D. D'Angelo sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham. The match ends 2 - 3.
