(378426985)

18-04-2012 10.50
2825 spectators had come to
Fangodrom this cloudy day.
Dennis Rheinheimer was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
James Kienbink and
Adrián Medel.
Schlammstampfer decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
They fielded: Balsbach - Bonfranchi, Linzalone, Zumsteg, Labourier - Mühlebach, Crameri, Ammann, Ständer - Birkenmaier, Lucado.
Achiken had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
Starters: 上野 (Ueno) - 和田 (Wada), Tsunoda, 千葉 (Chiba) - Marcolin, 西田 (Nishida), Ogi, 佐々木 (Sasaki), Camara - Fujimaki, Ulmanis.
Achiken mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle.
The swift technical skills of
S. Lucado were often too much for the tall but somewhat slow
裕. 西田 (Nishida) who was humiliated after 2 minutes. He'll be breathing a huge sigh of relief after the final shot went wide.
Some great play up the middle by Schlammstampfer led to a chance for
M. Birkenmaier to score after 25 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar.
After 37 minutes, Achiken's
孝. 上野 (Ueno) fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit!
0 - 0 was the score after the first half.
Schlammstampfer claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.
After 46 minutes, the Schlammstampfer coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
V. Bonfranchi off the field.
M. Bubel took his place.
After 57 minutes, Achiken's
達. 和田 (Wada) made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1.
The Schlammstampfer coach was desperate to reverse his team's fortunes in the game, and ordered his team to change strategy.
Following a foul after 81 minutes, Schlammstampfer got themselves a free kick just outside the penalty area.
J. Crameri levelled the scoreline - 1 - 1.
84 minutes into the game,
Y. Fujimaki was a hair's breadth away from giving Achiken the lead with a shot from over on the left. A prompt block by
D. Balsbach saved the home team that time.
85 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but
G. Marcolin, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide.
Schlammstampfer could have put themselves ahead after 88 minutes but
T. Ständer missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right.
Schlammstampfer enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.
As neither team had managed to win, extra time was called.
After 109 minutes,
I. Zumsteg came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 2 - 1, giving Schlammstampfer the lead.
Game over, Schlammstampfer win!
Most important Schlammstampfer player was
J. Crameri.
Y. Ammann on the other hand, had a terrible day.
O. Ulmanis performed admirably for Achiken.
Y. Fujimaki was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 2 - 1.
