The local marching band welcomed a crowd of 846 to Arena dei Grifoni. Carlos Martín Talamas was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Giuseppe Villani and Martin Penđer. Gentlemen prefer blondes and ZenaRedBlu prefers a 3-5-2. Let's see how this plays out for them. They fielded: Nocetti - Salomoni, Simonti, Palese - Melick, Bagnato, Fornara, Grimm, Dolejší - Trombini, Girardelli.

Our studio analysts were correct. Sporting has taken the field in a 3-5-2 alignment. Starters: Soragna - Dayan, Hielz, Solinas - Wellauer, Quattrini, Pitault, Mannazzu, Mapelli - Ciglione, Pamparana.

ZenaRedBlu made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in on the right hand side left G. Salomoni completely alone with keeper L. Soragna, who made a spectacular block. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 16 minutes of hard work with a breakthrough from I. Fornara, who, all by his lonesome, came out of the right wing and hooked the ball over the visitors' keeper. ZenaRedBlu's J. Dolejší showed off his trademark ability to do the unexpected with a tricky pass after 19 minutes. Unfortunately, T. Trombini was startled by the play and scuffed the finish. Coming through the middle D. Hielz almost scored the equalizer for Sporting after 20 minutes, but N. Nocetti made an excellent save, tipping the awkward swerving shot past the post. The home side's T. Trombini came close to extending the lead after 23 minutes. His shot came in from the right but L. Soragna managed to push it wide with his fingertips. It was 1 - 0 at the break. ZenaRedBlu were doing a good job holding on to the ball, with 51 percent of possession.

The visitors' N. Pitault was alert on a play coming in from the left, evening things up at 1 - 1 after 51 minutes. With the clock showing 65 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board. Y. Mannazzu looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for B. Seghieri, though he would have liked to continue. Down the middle came G. Quattrini, making a fantastic play that nearly saw Sporting take the lead after 68 minutes, but N. Nocetti preserved the tie. 70 minutes into the game, Sporting wanted to bring some new energy to their game. P. Pamparana gave P. Vesterell a quick hug as he left the field. ZenaRedBlu took the lead 70 minutes in, as C. Palese broke through on the left and put his shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper, bringing the score to 2 - 1. ZenaRedBlu added another goal to their lead as F. Girardelli struck home for 3 - 1 after an attack from the left set him up unmarked in front of the keeper. The bench was restless, and with 75 minutes gone Sporting's coach gave D. Di pierro the opportunity to try to change the team's fortunes. S. Solinas reluctantly left the field. The Count appeared on the jumbotron and announced that Sporting had 56...56 percent possession. AH AH AH!

ZenaRedBlu's best player was E. Melick. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because G. Salomoni seemed to stumble all over the pitch. P. Vesterell performed admirably for Sporting. Even six year old fans were wincing at the poor play by D. Di pierro today. The match ends 3 - 1.
