Lipánci 4 - 2 Supersport (378523440)

Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and FC Lipánci Arena saw a crowd turnout of 1978. Danny Mogensen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Michael Fjordside and Meis de Bruin. Lipánci had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Reiner - Herics, Cooper, Haav - Anastasi, Türme, Roennfeld, Cicko, Padlo - Kajastu, Shinfeld.

A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Supersport. The following players took the field: Lejnar - Rameš, Merta, Lukács - Steidl, Merta, Zwiernik, Ladič - Smolka, Jančar, Jankovič.

After 11 minutes, Lipánci were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the taker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his team mates a bit by surprise. E. Shinfeld did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans. After 15 minutes, S. Kajastu came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving Lipánci the lead. Cheers filled the stadium as D. Anastasi broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to Lipánci. V. Steidl's speed was clear to see after 19 minutes, as he darted down the wing and released L. Jankovič who placed the ball into the back of the net to make the score 2 - 1. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. E. Shinfeld squirmed through their central defence after 20 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 1. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave K. Türme from Lipánci a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 23 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! 3 - 1 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to Lipánci, who controlled the ball 60 percent of the time.

With 46 minutes played, the Supersport coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. D. Odvářka came on, L. Jankovič had to leave the fray. With 57 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock, Supersport showed some good skill and were able to reduce the score to 3 - 2 when L. Lukács got past the home side's central defenders right in front of the goal. Lipánci put themselves up 4 - 2 when H. Haav broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Lipánci, with 55 percent of the ball.

Lipánci's best player was E. Shinfeld. However, K. Türme made a disastrous appearance. Most important Supersport player was M. Jančar. R. Lejnar was a disappointment, however. The match ends 4 - 2.
