Suma 1 - 1 Bratislava
(378595019)

25-04-2012 12.30
Dark skies made the crowd of 2611 at
Suma Team Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off.
Radomír Vrban was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Héctor Manuel Delgado and
Igor Alexander Röbern.
Suma tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
The following players took the field: Vargas - Schmidt, Azaña, Bordalás - Larrañaga, Castilla, Klemettilä, Dusseaux, Isca - Conadall, Freixas.
A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Bratislava.
Starters: Šišovský - Kuchta, Roharík, Choreň - Imriščák, Kľučiar, Hold, Mačej - Sterrer, Padlák, Bebej.
Slack defending gave Suma a chance to take the lead with 3 minutes played, but
K. Dusseaux's cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition.
E. Vargas looked great 8 minutes into the match after stopping a shot from the middle of the penalty area from the visitors'
P. Padlák.
Good work by the Suma defensive line after 9 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found
H. Klemettilä alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide.
Bratislava's
V. Bebej got himself booked for a foul.
Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 23 minutes into the match, and
P. Padlák wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 0 - 1 for the visitors.
V. Bebej knew he was in trouble after hacking down an opponent. Despite his pleading with the referee, the Bratislava player was shown a second yellow card and dismissed from the game.
It was 0 - 1 at the break.
Suma enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 61 percent of possession.
With 46 minutes played, the Suma coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around.
B. Lindeiner came on,
H. Klemettilä had to leave the fray.
Suma's
J. Conadall put his head to a well placed ball, lifted in from the left, and scored to make the score 1 - 1 with 51 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock.
With 64 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience,
Z. Mačej needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed.
Bratislava's
S. Imriščák was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 72 minutes.
Suma were very close to putting themselves one up after 75 minutes as
S. Freixas got through on the left, but failing in concentration, he shot the ball wide.
Suma had most of the ball, with 60 percent of possession.
C. Azaña performed admirably for Suma.
L. Bordalás was a disappointment, however.
Bratislava's top performer was clearly
C. Roharík.
On the other hand,
M. Kuchta's play was disheartening.
The match ends 1 - 1.
