previous 3/4 next 1/4  Haching 1 - 1 Pirates (378659952)

A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 6387 to Hachinger Sportpark. Rainhardt Schlemmer was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Son Tô and Alfonso Zucchetti. Haching had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation. Lineup: Sartoris - Elvas, Jovellar, Ovcharenko, Hueber - Trolley de Prevaux, Gauger, Halek, De Oro, Lee - Tapprich.

Pirates started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. They fielded: Park - Choi, Kim, Yang, Yun - Lee, Kim, Hong, Kolyvanov - Park, Lee.

Haching mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. With clinical precision, the cross from winger G. Kolyvanov found its way to H. Lee's head, and a screaming header gave Pirates the goal after 3 minutes played. 0 - 1 Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Haching, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. M. Yun of Pirates was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. Some fine passing in the middle of the pitch, carving open the away defence, should have led to a goal for Haching, but T. Halek's shot went over the bar. It was 0 - 1 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Haching, with 73 percent of the ball.

Haching put pressure on the visitors' central defence 58 minutes into the game, but E. Ovcharenko couldn't find an opening. Due to some great work on the right wing Haching's J. Hueber was able to even the score after 62 minutes to make the score 1 - 1. Haching had a chance to take the lead after N. Lee's dazzling drive up the left, but the opportunity fizzled out as his shot went just over the bar after 68 minutes. Haching enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 72 percent of possession.

J. De Oro performed admirably for Haching. On the other hand, F. Sartoris's play was disheartening. The most dominating Pirates player was without a doubt G. Kolyvanov. However, J. Choi made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 1 - 1.
