1759 spectators had found their way to Coliseum Santijera, despite the heavy rain. Joe Steadman was the appointed referee. A 4-5-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Santijera. They fielded: Cámara - Chedeville, Palla, Putregai, Gómez - Iturriaga, Kuusamo, Gazzella, Balaciu, Labricciosa - Knutzen.

Unlimited had chosen a strategic 5-5-0 formation. The following players had been chosen: Vrisekoop - Seminara, Radavniković, Parada, Kuijer, Raudaskoski - Parlevliet, Bosloo, Riccomi, Wuijster, Baerselman -.

Santijera were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks. For their match strategy, Unlimited had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. The guests almost went up by a goal after 5 minutes when J. Raudaskoski came through and shot from the right. The ball bounced harmlessly off the post, though. 16 minutes into the game, Santijera seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to weak. D. Chedeville, who often relies on his speed, had a rotten day on the drenched grass. After 27 minutes, Unlimited put themselves up 0 - 1, as S. Parlevliet finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot. H. Wuijster didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain. 34 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 2 as V. Bosloo finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. Santijera's J. Iturriaga was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box - F. Knutzen managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 1 - 2 after 35 minutes. A drive down the left side allowed H. Wuijster to get in close and score another goal for Unlimited after 36 minutes, taking the score to 1 - 3. With 37 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed R. Baerselman of Unlimited to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 1 - 4. Santijera's T. Kuusamo was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 37 minutes. Unlimited's F. Kuijer made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 38 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 4. Unlimited had most of the ball, with 72 percent of possession.

During the break, Santijera's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to passable organisation. After 54 minutes Unlimited's C. Seminara limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. The local team's free kick specialist F. Knutzen, reduced the away team's lead to 2 - 4 with a humdinger of a shot after 63 minutes. When V. Bosloo was badly injured by a couple of strong tackles after 66 minutes, Unlimited fans were unhappy to discover that it was not possible to make a substitution. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Santijera's D. Chedeville was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 67 minutes. A. Voerman was given a chance to change things around. F. Kuijer could have put his team up another goal 70 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. Santijera's A. Voerman was shown a yellow card after 74 minutes for slicing down an opponent. S. Parlevliet couldn't finish the match after being injured, leaving Unlimited a man down. The Unlimited captaincy was handed to G. Riccomi. Possession in this half belonged to Unlimited, who controlled the ball 60 percent of the time.

F. Knutzen performed admirably for Santijera. A. Cámara on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Unlimited player was without a doubt H. Wuijster. However, G. Radavniković made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 4.
