02-05-2012 08.15
Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 3002 to
Juventus Arena.
Alojzy Wieliński was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Dan Rachimi and
Diego Wolfson.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Juventus.
The following players took the field: Vovk - Mitroshkin, Melnichuk, Molins - Kiryukhin, Ilimbekov, Ballero, Oleynik, Tareev - Chernomorets, Shelmenko.
Trolle started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
They fielded: Skovhus - Linnet, Jensen, Sletskov - Schaefer, Jakobsen, Sáez, Damgaard, Rånes - Astrup Jensen, Bros Nielsen.
For their match strategy, Juventus had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible.
The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 6 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from
R. Oleynik, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing.
I. Vovk's name was chanted throughout the stadium after he made a fantastic save from
M. Sletskov's shot from the left 22 minutes into the match.
Juventus's
M. Tareev got himself booked for a foul.
Trolle's
M. Sletskov was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 31 minutes.
It was 1 - 0 at the break.
Trolle enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 68 percent of possession.
After 46 minutes of the match, the manager still hoped to turn things around.
O. Rånes was ordered to assume a different position on the pitch. He took the place of
F. Sáez, who in turn replaced his team mate.
Good work by the Juventus defensive line after 48 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found
I. Mitroshkin alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide.
With 70 minutes played, Juventus put themselves up 2 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
V. Chernomorets, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home.
After 80 minutes, Trolle's
I. Jensen fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit!
Trolle had a fair chance to reply after 81 minutes due to some fine moves down the left, but in the end
I. Jensen was slow to keep up with the play and was unable to make it into the penalty box to apply a finish.
The counterattack by Juventus resulted in a free kick that
S. Melnichuk bent under the crossbar - 3 - 0!
F. Sáez of Trolle was able to make an impressive rush past the sluggish
I. Mitroshkin, which resulted in a goal making the score 3 - 1.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
K. Jakobsen got himself booked. The manager of Trolle was not happy.
Possession in this half belonged to Trolle, who controlled the ball 72 percent of the time.
Juventus's top performer was clearly
G. Shelmenko.
N. Kiryukhin was a disappointment, however.
O. Rånes performed admirably for Trolle.
M. Skovhus turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 3 - 1.
