(378763095)

02-05-2012 10.00
The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 1662 had shown up at
STEFAN CEL MARE for the match.
Paulo Freitas was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Truls Wolden and
Sven Erwin Mahler.
A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for BUCURESTI.
They fielded: Bondar - Ásmundarson, Grochulski, Azevedo - Hirylovich, Groenland, Tenucci, Blanxart - Corbett, Ben-Zion, Gasche.
Marignane had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
Lineup: Le Tallec - Cusaro, Michurski, Winther - Manigrasso, Cerqueira, Zouaghi, Polimenopoulos, Poortman - Marest, Maucourt.
It was an obvious ambition of Marignane to use their ability at attacking on the flanks.
BUCURESTI took the lead after 20 minutes as a result of
S. Gasche's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 1 - 0.
BUCURESTI solidified their lead at the 21 minute mark, as
A. Blanxart dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 2 - 0.
After this, you could see that the players of BUCURESTI were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
J. Groenland unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide.
S. Corbett of BUCURESTI received a yellow card after 31 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 32 minutes, BUCURESTI did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker,
M. Grochulski was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 3 - 0.
BUCURESTI put themselves up 4 - 0 when
M. Hirylovich broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
Halftime score was 4 - 0.
BUCURESTI claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 65 percent.
F. Tenucci left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 50 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
O. Mička was the replacement.
The BUCURESTI captaincy was handed to
J. Groenland.
The coach of BUCURESTI was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 55 minutes,
V. Larion came on for
S. Corbett.
After 64 minutes, Marignane's
N. Zouaghi fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit!
A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in BUCURESTI's
O. Ben-Zion increasing the lead to 5 - 0.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as BUCURESTI scored another to make it 6 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
S. Gasche after 69 minutes.
The BUCURESTI free kick 71 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of
J. Groenland, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 7 - 0!
BUCURESTI's
O. Ben-Zion saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 79 minutes.
Possession in this half belonged to BUCURESTI, who controlled the ball 68 percent of the time.
S. Gasche performed admirably for BUCURESTI.
However,
C. Bondar made a disastrous appearance.
Marignane's top performer was clearly
A. Marest.
S. Le Tallec was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 7 - 0.
