Ascensione 6 - 1 Jam
(378800736)

01-05-2012 19.05
It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 1197 that came out to
Parroch.
Edward Amato was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Artúr Hofbauer and
Luc Seite.
Ascensione tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination.
The following players took the field: Cozzella - Rotgans, Matrisciano, Zimmerer, Gómez de Barreda - Criscione, Scagnoli, Caldara, Bradshaw, Ghilardi - Jesiołowski.
Jam decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
Starters: Tecco - Bachmayer, Blotto, Gazzana, Judt - Spiccia, Tarletti, Popov, Albano - Trapolino, Monticone.
Ascensione took the lead 4 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as
S. Bradshaw elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar.
13 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
S. Bradshaw broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for Ascensione.
23 minutes in,
A. Spiccia made an incredible run up the middle and nearly reduced the home side's lead, but
P. Cozzella refused to let the ball slip by him.
After 29 minutes, Ascensione sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached
G. Ghilardi, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 3 - 0.
Ascensione's
A. Caldara was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 30 minutes.
33 minutes into the match, the speedy
L. Jesiołowski easily outpaced
S. Blotto, chipped the keeper and made the score 4 - 0.
After this, you could see that the players of Ascensione were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
It was 4 - 0 at the break.
Possession of the ball saw an equal split between the teams during the forty-five minutes.
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Ascensione to 5 - 0 as
P. Matrisciano finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle.
It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why
L. Bachmayer found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork.
After 62 minutes Jam tried to exploit their counterattacking skills, unfortunately,
F. Trapolino's shot sailed wide after his break down the right.
Jam were desperate to get a goal back and pushed forward through the middle 72 minutes into the game. After a scramble in the box, the ball dropped to
V. Tarletti, who smashed it home to make the score 5 - 1.
With 74 minutes played,
P. Matrisciano of Ascensione fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
76 minutes into the match, Ascensione's
S. Criscione demonstrated his famed speed as he raced past his marker and passed the ball to
L. Jesiołowski who chipped it in for 6 - 1.
Possession in this half belonged to Jam, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.
L. Jesiołowski performed admirably for Ascensione.
G. Ghilardi was a disappointment, however.
The most dominating Jam player was without a doubt
W. Judt.
On the other hand,
S. Blotto's play was disheartening.
The match ends 6 - 1.
