previous 7/10 next 9/10  Gulliver 3 - 0 Walker (378825349)

1744 fans braved the pouring rain at Stade Gulliver. George Lee was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Olof Kjellwald and Eugene Inglin. Gulliver tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. They fielded: Moisio - Patey, Faille, Gallotti - Givry, Vaillant, Derbali, Chacun, Sakhir - Toquet, Guichard.

A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Walker. The following players took the field: Jakubczyk - Wozniak, Szafarczyk, Trojanowicz - Rokosz, Boros, Lejkowski, Hajda - Haba, Lantin, Dolecki.

Gulliver took the lead 24 minutes in, as A. Patey broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper. A well placed corner kick from E. Gallotti was followed by A. Patey's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for Gulliver, the score now 2 - 0. Thighs bulging, S. Derbali charged past the weaker players, seemingly oblivious to the rain. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave J. Lejkowski from Walker a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 34 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! The referee showed Walker's R. Dolecki the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. A. Patey had a fantastic opportunity to put Gulliver up another goal 41 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. 2 - 0 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to Gulliver, who controlled the ball 70 percent of the time.

A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Gulliver to 3 - 0 as D. Sakhir finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. Unfortunately for Gulliver, F. Givry suffered a concussion after 76 minutes and had to be taken for tests. The coach had his head in his hands after realising he could not send a replacement onto the pitch, and the team had to continue a man short. Gulliver claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 68 percent.

Most important Gulliver player was S. Derbali. P. Faille on the other hand, had a terrible day. R. Dolecki performed admirably for Walker. K. Hajda turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 3 - 0.
