SpVgg H. were relying on their ability to counter-attack. It was obvious that aparejos were using their pressing skill as their primary tactic. Slack defending gave SpVgg H. a chance to take the lead with 17 minutes played, but P. Herhudt's cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition. With 20 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 1 - 0 lead as R. Soltau-Gattermann flipped the ball in after a cross from the right. SpVgg H.'s K. Stasiukiewicz swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. SpVgg H. increased the lead as M. Buschmann struck to make the score 2 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. 2 - 0 was the halftime score. SpVgg H. enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 64 percent of possession.

Although the whole team were struggling to impress, aparejos's J. Quintanilla was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 58 minutes. F. Kampouroglou was given a chance to change things around. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, P. Urdangarín took over the role of being the aparejos captain. M. Stasiukiewicz struck his penalty well enough to beat the goalkeeper and extend the home team's lead to 4 - 0 after 68 minutes. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave C. Ayari from SpVgg H. a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 77 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! P. Elosidieta's early cross saw the defenders caught out of position and the alert B. Sędłak was able to pounce and roll the ball past the hapless goalkeeper to score for aparejos. 4 - 1. With 80 minutes played, K. Bartholdschuetz could have brought this one home for SpVgg H. as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. SpVgg H. had most of the ball, with 62 percent of possession.

The most dominating SpVgg H. player was without a doubt K. Bartholdschuetz. On the other hand, M. Buschmann's play was disheartening. aparejos's top performer was clearly B. Sędłak. A. Valenzuela turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 4 - 1.
