(378872790)

02-05-2012 16.30
The 1855 spectators at
Vikin Arena were in for an afternoon of sunshine.
Miodrag Cikatić was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
András Puskás and
Petr Kamenshchikov.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Kags.
Starters: Bregnsbo - Lippert, Moeskær, Glud, Hyllested - Văn Hưng, Hingebjerg, Lassen, Hollands - Tornskog, Brix.
Donkeys had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players took the field: Valten - Wittendorff, Gammelgard, Bisp - Ehnle, Tygesen, Adamsen, Kammer, Solgaard - Therkildsen, Nørholt.
Today, Kags's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks.
Donkeys showed off their creative tactics.
The referee showed Kags's
K. Moeskær the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why
U. Gammelgard found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork.
After 29 minutes, Donkeys's
S. Nørholt made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1.
With 40 minutes played, Kags's
P. Brix found an opening in the visitors' left side defence, but his shot was handled easily by the keeper.
The home crowd cheered when, after 42 minutes,
J. Tygesen's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day.
Kags's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 43 minutes gone, but
P. Brix's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper.
D. Hyllested of Kags seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 1 - 1 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by
A. Hingebjerg.
H. Bregnsbo looked great 43 minutes into the match after stopping a shot from the middle of the penalty area from the visitors'
L. Adamsen.
Halftime score was 1 - 1.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Donkeys, with 72 percent of the ball.
The guests took the lead 54 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in
O. Solgaard scoring to make it 1 - 2.
The fierce heat made it important to save breath, and after a few swift runs
L. Kammer found it hard to get back into position.
Kags tried to even things up by sending a long ball towards the centrally placed strikers, but the visitors' defence got the best of this rather direct style of play.
Had it not been for one of the home defenders,
J. Tygesen would have put Donkeys up another goal 70 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing.
Possession in this half belonged to Donkeys, who controlled the ball 73 percent of the time.
Kags's top performer was clearly
Đ. Văn Hưng.
H. Tornskog was a disappointment, however.
Donkeys's best player was
L. Kammer.
K. Wittendorff turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 1 - 2.
