FCDornia 7 - 1 Dragon
(378877332)

01-05-2012 19.15
2966 spectators had found their way to
Canelli Arena, despite the heavy rain.
Jan Göransson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
George Bräker and
Pablo Lantadilla.
FCDornia had chosen a strategic 5-3-2 formation.
Starters: Famiglietti - Kovalev, Salomoni, Polesello, Amidani, Kolyvanov - Dalla Libera, Occhipinti, Ronsisvalle - Brignon, Juengling.
Dragon tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination.
The following players took the field: Lefort - Gros, Hilburger - Blampied, Petrov, Gelosini, Mundakar, Bornstein - Bamforth, Seitz, Curnow.
Dragon used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings.
FCDornia took the lead 17 minutes in, as
K. Occhipinti broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper.
It was a bad day for the usually speedy
L. Brignon. The mud seemed to slow him down.
Cheers filled the stadium as
G. Kolyvanov broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to FCDornia.
FCDornia managed to extend their lead to 3 - 0 when
F. Ronsisvalle cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
FCDornia's
F. Ronsisvalle increased the lead to 4 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 34 minutes.
Confident in their lead, FCDornia's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
With 41 minutes played, FCDornia put themselves up 5 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
D. Juengling, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home.
43 minutes into the game, Dragon seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to
solid.
5 - 0 was the score after the first half.
FCDornia claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 60 percent.
Despite his frustration resulting in the smashing of a few teacups, the coach of Dragon was able to get his message across, and raised Dragon's organisation to
solid.
With 50 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock, Dragon showed some good skill and were able to reduce the score to 5 - 1 when
W. Seitz got past the home side's central defenders right in front of the goal.
After 71 minutes,
K. Occhipinti put FCDornia ahead 6 - 1 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as FCDornia scored another to make it 7 - 1 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
F. Dalla Libera after 74 minutes.
D. Juengling had a fantastic opportunity to put FCDornia up another goal 80 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar.
FCDornia enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 63 percent of possession.
FCDornia's best player was
D. Juengling.
D. Famiglietti was a disappointment, however.
S. Gelosini performed admirably for Dragon.
On the other hand,
S. Bamforth's play was disheartening.
The match ends 7 - 1.
